"young" tour companies

Anyone know any tour companies similar to Contiki, but not Contiki?

I can't think of any except the more adventure companies like Intrepid or Gecko's.

I'd 99% heading over to the US in April and wanna do a tour around California, Nevada, Arizona type area. Contiki have the perfect tour but theres a couple of reasons I'd prefer not to go with them.

cheers

the fuckbus is coming.....
And everybody's jumping
New York to San Fransisco
An intercity disco
The wheels of steel are turning
And traffic lights are burning
So if you like to get herpes
Get on and move your body

BEEP BEEP

yeah I could, or I could ask here about tour companies with a young person kind of focus

oh wait i did............

also, why ask locals about tour companies and accomodation and stuff, they don't use it! Hence why you ask people who visit those places, not those who live there.

they live in california but they dont live in colorado and arizona so they might do the tour thing... anyhow i was just trying to be helpful, clearly my help is not wanted.

Cause they are locals!!!! I live in NY can list off about 10 different travel agents / tour companies that people us here in NY and I am a local. People take friends around, have used companies locally to set up trips in other areas, there are lots of reasons to ask locals!! IMO I don't understand why you would want to use a tour company. there is so much to do out there you can plan your own trip to the same places cheaper.

I've done the solo thing before and while I do normally prefer to do it that way, this time around i just can't be bothered. If I was going over just for a holiday I would probably do it myself, but I'm actually there for other reasons and its probably easier to see a lot in a short time on one of these tours than doing it myself where I would stay and experience each place a little more. I will still be investigating doing it by myself anyway.

And yes I will eventually get around to asking in the California area, just thought I'd ask here first. Most of the people here are Americans anyway so I expected to get pretty similar responses.

eRRatik - yeah I'm heading up to STA this arvo. It was only decided yesterday I'd be going.
