Andy Moor, Chris Lawrence & Tranceaddicts @ Rebel 11-30-07 [Review and Pics]
Excellent night of Trance
All of the DJ's really brought their A Game
Being that it was my first time at Rebel I wasn't sure what to expect but the vibe was phenomenal and there was a very large TA presence
Some people I haven't seen in soooo long!
Holy shit it was COLD...luckily I ended up finding my jacket. Me & Sanu went to the bathroom and by the time we came out everyone was gone lol Sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye
So now I'm home with a pounding headache eating some breakfast and uploading these pics

Video's are on the way
Oh man, what a night!!! The only complaint I can possibly think of was sound quality but in this day in age (with a million and one disorganized and shitey parties with a lot MORE to complain about), that's really zero biggie anymore, the party was PHENOMENAL!.. Sorry for the drunken post after my return, I was delirious from a 3-mile walk home at 530 haha... I had a blast, Andy Moor is absolutely AMAZING and the 30-40 minutes or so I heard from Christopher Lawrence were like no other DJ right now, he went up to 145 BPM and played some trippy psytrance and even some hardstyle-ish tracks... Hearing that harddddd shit in that room brought me back (I know I'm young, but I used to go to raves and warehouses too)... I love that club, every floor of it.. Brought a bunch of friends along, and they told me that my taste in clubs is amazing (I've taken them to Love and Rebel so far)... They had a blast... However, I'm trying to figure out where this 3-inch long gash on my index finger came from, it's so annoying... Also, one for the history books and diary: I went to go speak to Steven sitting down in the Gallery, and lo and behold Andy Moor's sitting next to him... As I'm talking mid-sentence, an arm reaches over and takes my glasses and I look and there's Andy Moor wearing my glasses... He takes a stumbling step and then crashes onto the table spilling like 3 FULL beer glasses all over his shoes and myself and it was then that I realized how much I love both English and German people, they're a different breed haha... Oi oi!...
Here are some tracks from the night (in the best order I can remember):
Rufus Wainwright - agnus dei (DJ Eco's unnamed remix)
Add2basket & Interplay - summer is back
Super8 & Tab - suru (Martin Roth's nustyle remix)
Victor Calderone - let me set you free (Luis Ferro private mix)
Brian Sanhaji - quantum
Evil Nine - for lovers not fighters
Breakfast - the horizon
Hybrid - finished symphony (Deadmau5 remix)
S-Tune & Soeren Sube - summer rain (Benya remix)
Imogen Heap - hide & seek (Tiesto's ISOS remix)
Accadia - into the dawn (club mix)
DJ Eco - mouth without a voice

Soo much fun.....TONS to drink at the beginning....everytime I asked the bartenders for a drink they gave me two and who am I to waste alcohol??? haha!
my night kinda went like this: crazy energy at the start, to crashing at the end....it was just way to hard and long of a week with no break to keep up the energy all night.
so great to see all the ta's out
Loved fighting with Steven Neil and picking on wai and her shennanigans, laughing WITH sheila at wai, dancing with andy chan and drew (to drewdawggs song!!!), getting roses and breakfast??!?! with taso and msbliss, convincing the girls to go in the cage, drinking the LINEUP of drinks we had on the bar with mere and penny (when did we pile up such a stock of drinks? did we think they were gonna run out?!?), having wai freak out that there is only one minute of free bar when in fact there was like an hour.... etc etc....haha I seriously have a moment for everyone, it was soo much fun!!
Def did a LOT of running back and forth between rooms because everyone was tearing it up!! I wish I saw a LOT more of CL because when I was in there he was tearin it up proppa!! but I was there to see the massive TA lineup and was not dissapointed!! I only wish everyone was playing by themselves because I feel like I missed out on a lot
my only complaints would be the door security, they had no idea wtf was going on and sent me and wai on an adventure....and the sound...holy fak my ears!!! I realized when I was getting breakfast with the crew that we were all screaming at each other!!

still beatin myself over the head for not getting there early for the full andy moor set. got in there around 12:30ish just as he dropped above & beyond's home and that was just a good moment right there, set my mood right away. since christopher lawrence came on at 1:30 I only saw andy moor play for one hour. but that 1 hour....yeah, baby
that one hour gave me the trance fix I so needed after that crowded armin show at pacha and lousy oakey show on thnksgvg. I was very enthusiastic about andy's set and really enjoyed dancing to it. it built me up and I was so pumped up to go when he closed it : ( after hearing andy's set I just couldn't transition well into the dated-sounding hard psy trance CL was playing, I didn't feel his set at all; I felt like just going home and playing some andy moor/markus style music on my speakers just to satisfy my craving! it was like andy moor's set whet my apetite and then the main course didn't arrive. so I went home and played above & beyond's home at 4:00am. good thing the old woman next door sleeps soundly
a great night, it made me realize that one hour of good music and a good dj vibe/set can be so much better than all night in a club with no-good music. I think andy moor deserves markus status and should play more often in the city, and should also headline instead of opening.
we want more moor! bring him back asap I say
Add2basket & Interplay - summer is back
zomg!
Where the fuck can I begin..This night was so fucking good for a million reasons..Everyone was out and fucking hammered,,all of you were on top form..Someone threw an ice cube at Andy Moor and hit him in the side of the head and he thought it was me,,it took me an hour to convince him that it wasn't..We sent him back to his hotel room wasted..What a great guy and a true Brit..My favourite part of the night was when he said "this guy is awesome who is it?" and it was our very own Marcello spinning..
Saw Big Mike spin for the first time and loved every minute..Seeing Jay play made me proud,,the poor guy took full advantage of the free vodka and had to sober up rapidly to play...
Wai you are the happiest funniest drunk I know I had tears in my eyes watching you perform..Wai said to me "Sheila and Kelly have got the same hair and they're both fucking short" I nearly choked on my Bud..
Everyone was out and without doubt it was the best night I ever had out in NYC.Nice job Core a great way to celebrate my green card..
I aint finished yet,,I'll post more as things come back to me...
There's no way Andy's getting the same treatment in Chicago that he got here... Last can only be described as a series of events brought about only by drunken revelry haha... Hope he had fun here, everyone knows New Yorkers do it better
Here come the videos
Some were good but some were kinda dark but I took videos of all the TA's spinning as well so you can get an idea of what they played
Everyone did excellent and kept me dancing all night
oh and the classics <3 <3 a la Jay. Jay you really need to come out and spin more often
Great to meet you last night Z you're just as lovely as I expected..
I've said it before, but more than ever last night i was torn between the two rooms. All the dj's were GREAT, but i gotta say Hai Lee made the night for me. Had such a fun time chatting and dancing with you all and spilling free drinks all over myself.
Here is another one of Andy Moor
Andy and Chris also both agreed to do interviews with me so those will be coming within the next few weeks or so
Great night!!! It was always a pleasure seeing everyone having a great time dancing the night away...
Drew I still owe you a drink!!!
Great set Hailee & Marcello
all i gotta say....
is Jay....
is a ninja both in the DJ booth and with glowsticks.
I've never been happier that Steven is the relentless pest that he can be; I never would have forgiven myself if we missed out on this one!! What a party!
Most everyone was half in the bag be the time we got there due to the open vodka bar. Hilarious watching Wai standing by Andy Moor admiringly during his set. I had a blast bopping around with the girls. So nice to see all ya'll.
The sound in the main room was making my ears pop, so after Andy, I never really made it back in there.
Big Mike, I really enjoyed your set. Next time I hope we get to actually meet!Mike Core never disappoints.Loved it! It was great to hear Hai Lee again, as usual, he was flawless. I loved Marcellos set as well. Jay closed out to a very happy crowd who couldn't have been more pleased to hear him play! Nice one Core. Those kind of moments are rare.
Funny moments: Looking out on the dance floor during Hai Lee's set just in time to see Dan and Steven wipe out. Bodies everywhere! I bet neither one can tell me what happened!
Me looking at the Grey Goose Vodka promo tea light on the bar...telling Tae it would look nice on my bar... and it ending up in my purse.
Spending ages remembering the Cape with Dan. At one point we both just shouted GO CARTS!!!
I'll post some pix soon!
Ahhh a night to remember for the rest of my live. It was truly awesome listening to everybody. It was an orgasm for my ears all night long. I was dead tired after 3 am so i didnt catch the closing. There was so much energy everywhere and everybody was killing it. Frequency Mike, Zack Roth, Big Mike, Andy Moor, DJ Eco, Hai Lee Chen....everybody was fucking killing it. I caught a lil bit of CL but i went back and just chilled and listened to Eco.
It was fun seeing everybody like always. I really enjoy going clubbing by myself to meet all of you over there. Everybody was having fun all night long. It was fun chilling with Andy Moor. Hah, im the one that gave him a ride back to his Hotel. Hes a chill guy and just talks about anything with a lot of passion. Very humble guy. Took a lil bit to get to the hotel cause alot of the streets were closed for some reason. I was at a light and Andy jumps outta the car running and screaming that he's gotta piss by some wall. Good times.
It was perfect night, i just wish that i couldve stayed longer.
Im gonna try to upload all the pictures tomorrow.
Chris Lawrence on the decks....
Really fun, solid night... great hanging out with everyone!
Christopher Lawrence tore it up. I also heard Big Mike's, DJ Eco's, Hai Lee's, and Jay's sets... all were very different and great in their own ways. SO MUCH FUN! When there are dozens of TAs milling around and all getting smashed you know it's gonna be a great night!!
Alisa
So many TAs!!! it felt like i was at 1015 in SF! was great meeting steven-neil (you so remind me of my friend kirk! haha), big mike (sorry i missed your set again), drew (i met you before i think but didnt know you were on TA), mamii and euphoria along with seeing everyone else!
its only my 3rd time in NYC so I'm still doing a lot of walking and tourist stuff all day and was tired when i got to rebels. couldnt drink either because i did not want to get so faded that ill miss my flight.
every set i heard in the main room & gallery were fun! zack roth opened beautifully for andy moor. once moor got on it made it hard for me to leave to catch b&j at webster hall but im glad i went to b&j too as i had a good time there and its nice checking out new venues although i did prefer rebels a lot more. got back to catch the last45mins of CL who was dropping bangers!
forgot who played before Jay but the last few tracks were great! Jay had some trouble early on w/ the equipment but once that was straighten out it was constant classic bombs! For an Angel ![]()
its unfortunate that rebels will now be all hip hop
really like the club and didnt it just open this past july/august? i remember after PvD the after party there was a lot of TAs first time there. at least ill get to check out new venues next time
I had a fantastic time!!! I loved Christopher Lawrence, he not only banged the shit out of the place but he was very nice unlike Andy Moor who seemed grouchy as all hell and didn't look like he wanted to even be there. Some others definitely agreed with my impression of him but perhaps I was wrong. Anyway, the music was great! The locals were ridiculous
. Like everyone said it was so difficult picking which room to stay in. Hai Lee and Jay play tracks that I really want to hear and Zach, Frank, Marcello and Mike surprise me with great tracks I have yet to hear.
Steven and Shiela you guys were hilarious, I'm glad to have supplied some type of entertainment for you
. I went out of control trying to stay away and after all those free drinks I was exhausted as all hell. I got home and slept for ~14hours; I lost the entire day but it was so worth it. Great seeing everyone, there were so many TAs it was awesome.
Alisa it was great finally meeting you.
Molly it looks like I have your scarf.
