i just found out my cat died...

my friend erika was keeping him while i'm in france...

she called me today and told me that a rotweiler jumped the fence into her yard and mauled him to death. her dog, blackie, tried to help milo but the other dog was too big and he couldn't fight him off. she got there too late but the dog was still in the yard so she called animal control. the owner has 2 days to pick him up or else the rotweiler will be put to sleep. if he does get claimed, the owner will owe a $250 fine for letting the dog out.

i'm just really sad...not only was it a horrible way to go...he must have been so terrified and in so much pain...but also i was only 2 weeks from coming back. it's just like i can't even memorialize him or anything. i just wanted to post some pictures of him in here so i can remember him...

i know it's just a cat and it might not seem very reasonable to some of you but i really loved milo, and he was the first pet i ever had that was really mine. he was a great cat, and i'm really going to miss him...

rest in peace milo. i love you.

That really sucks. Hope you're not too mad at the dog though. Be mad at the douchebag that let him loose.

I'm sorry. My cat died not too long ago too. It sucks.

That is awful, Amelia. Whilst I dislike cats for their shitting-everywhere-else-but-their-own-gardenness, some dogs are really ****ish too, like those little ones like chihuahuas and the ugly fucking ones like bulldogs or rottweilers or the dangerous ones. they should all be kicked into a steaming volcano with their owners.

Losing a pet is of course something you'll be upset about, it's the same feeling that made you get one in the first place that kicks in. And when it's way before their time, it's even worse. I still hate that I had to have ben put to sleep 15 months ago, because he was such a great dog but they found out something afterwards which vindicated my decision, yet didn't make it any easier at all. My condolances

That sucks. I watched my cat die painfully (kidney failure) two years ago. Sad time.

aww, that sucks.

I remember when my friends cat was playing around at the bottom of an electrical transformer in his backyard. Yea we had to call that one in as it was fried to the wires it was chewing on. not pretty.

C'est terrible

Posted by prolikewhoa on Dec-03-2007 23:24:

my friend just send me a message that the owner stopped by the house and was really apologetic, it was an older french woman and they usually keep the dogs where they can't get out but one of them got away from her husband while he was walking it. erika said she gave her her contact information for me when i get back and that she offered to buy me a new kitten or cat. i appreciate the sentiment but it won't replace my milo...

it won't for sure, but after time you may want to get a new one. Unfortunately, in our longer lives we'll outlive many pets, even in my life, i've outlived 7 dogs, 2 goldfish and a pokmon. One day, you'll just know when it's time to move on with it, promise

Posted by Clovis on Dec-03-2007 23:37:

And theres lots of nice kitties out there lookin for a home.

Sad

Shit. My sympathies.
That made me tear up because your Milo looked exactly like my first cat that died a couple years ago..I miss him soooo much.

RIP kitties.

Aww... Really sorry to hear that He was a good looking cat though I don't even know what kind of a feeling it is to miss a pet yet because my current pet, a 2 and a half years old long haired Chihuahua (thanks Ian ), is my first pet ever, but I'm sure it'll be hard when his time comes...
