Joris Voorn - From A Deep Place

Gui Boratto - Chromophobia

It's not really techno, but it's definitely not Trance. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Pig & Dan - Imagine

Fucking mint!

Ellen Allien - Fabric 34

Joel Mull - The Observer is quite good.

Pantha Du Prince - This Bliss

Dominik Eulberg - Bionik

Album of the year for me

FALSE - 2007
Although coming from listening to trance this one might be too hard to begin with. Joris Voorn's album is good though, because it's a lot more melodic.

False - 2007
Cobblestone Jazz - 23 Seconds
Galaktika Records Compilation, Vol 1
Onur Ozer - Kasmir
Ouzo 19 (release from a label with several tracks)

Compilations
Valentino Kanzyani - Palazzo Vol 6
Damian Lazarus & DJ T - Monza Club Ibiza Vol 2
Onur Ozer - Groove Mag #118
Lee Burridge - Balance 012
Andre Galluzzi & Raresh - Ibiza Summer Mix (both discs)
Chris Tietjen - ZWEI
Marc Romboy - Cocorico 02
Thomas Schumacher - Perlen 5
John Digweed - Transitions Vol 3

Lots of it goes through deep/tech house, minimal techno, and some kind of groovy techno.

I dont know if the OP really knows what techno is (99% of people who say the word techno actually think if Ibiza sunrise trance compilation vol 34)

But since everyone in this thread wrote non-techno albums, i'll go ahead with the all styles and genres overall best album of the year 2007:

Burial - Untrue
Label: Hyperdub

Oh, and by the way, the genre is Dubstep

Artist albums would be either Chromophobia or Save The World, and by far the best compilation would be Balance 012 <3

Yes it's quite stripped down, like techno usually is, but it's incredibly warm. And you just gotta love those sweet breaks tracks, Lady 707 and Leaving Me.

You will probably like his previous album "Deeparture In Time".

Also, if you like Joris Voorn make sure to check out his previous album too, if you haven't already, "Future History".

Take a look inside the techno favorites thread that has been active lately. You'll find a lot of good stuff in there.

Aril & Joris albums' are both outstanding, Boratto's "Chromophobia" was quite good as well - but the album I think I'm most happy about this year was actually a re-release of a bunch of old material by The Black Dog in the "Book of Dogma" release on Soma this year.

I thought it was a new release when it came out, but Sand Leaper clarified that it was mostly older tunes and with a few new edits and such sprinkled in there. Sounds incredibly current, lots of great tunes - I really recommend it.

One of my favorite as well this year. Still love those old tunes, some of which are 16 or 15 years old.

Artist albums

Quince - En.vi.sion
christian smith & john selway - the coming storm
Steve rachmad - neo classica (possibly late 2006)

Dj mix

FUSE presents - Shinedoe

Edit: the steve rachmad thing is actually 2006 and it's not all that good but there is one tune on it which is an absolute stormer "levigi". thats worth checking out alone..

Book Of Dogma is definitely worth copping for those who weren't around (such as myself) when BD were pioneering IDM and releasing all those limited 12"s.

One album that I can think of recommending off the top of my head is Vince Watson - The Emotion Sequence, which is a beautiful slice of the melodic techno that Vince has gotten reknowned for. Not very innovative perhaps, but still gorgeous. Delsin has provided 2007 with a lot of good techno releases in general this year.

Really liking some of the samples I've found - thanks for the recommendation
