Depends on the time of year....in the summer I take it easy so probably work less than 30 hours a week.....but right now I'm probably working closer to 70 hours a week

Posted by exstasie on Dec-05-2007 15:54:

Standard 7.5 hours a day...Monday to Friday = 37.5

Every once in a while i'll work on a Saturday/Sunday..but by choice and I get 1.5 in lieu time.

So i Can't complain.

J.O.B = just over broke

Can't wait for the day that I can be free from the rat race.

70hrs a week in my office. I've been blessed to work weekends.

Also 25 hours a week for cycling which I consider a job in itself. I barely have time to take a shit these days.

45-55

used to be 70+ when I had 2 jobs, I scaled back for my sanity.

Posted by CAKE on Dec-05-2007 16:07:

37.5

Posted by malek on Dec-05-2007 16:47:

paid for 40h, not wanting to work though. actual work vary between 1 and 2 hours a day tops.

Posted by Time2Burn on Dec-05-2007 16:49:

Average is definetly 40 hours a week but I can push 50 hours at the end of the month to crank out sales and meet targets.

Posted by Skipper on Dec-05-2007 18:22:

I voted 56-70 based on the hours I expect at my post-grad job.

at some company in Japan, a worker cannot open the doors of the office when he reached a certain amount of overtime.

Pshhh 100 hours of overtime a MONTH! that's about 23 hrs of overtime a week. Which means about 63 hours of work per week.

That's friggin standard here in North America, at most medium-sized consulting companies. It sure is a standard where I work. 50+ hours is given as a reference point during an interview, and quite often it's more.

As an example, the most recent project I worked on:
* 2-3 months prior to go-live, the team on averaged worked about 60 hours a week, every week.
* during go-live, and post go-live (for about 1-2 months) team worked at about 80 hours a week (for regular team members)
* peaking during that time, for myself, and 2 other guys, at 96, 97, and 103! hours a week (for 2 weeks in a row)

No work-life balance to speak of. That can't be good for health, social, life in general.

Yep. That's crazy. I work 37.5 in a week and think we as a country should even cut that back. I work to live, I will NEVER live to work even when I have a family I will try super hard to not be like that.

+1

anything above 45 hours on a regular base is just retarded.

I easily work up to 50 hours a week...that means doing emails and reports from home ...I also have a part time job on Saturdays but I am not ready to quit yet bc I wouldnt know what the hell to do hahaha so used to it been working there for 7 years now!!

I don't mind working extra from home sometimes but if its a continuous thing it gets irritating bc then i have no time to myself, family or friends

I'm similar.

I work on average 37.5 hours a week. If I need to come in on the weekend, its by choice only. I could EVERY weekend if I wanted to. lol.

Last 4 weeks I've been average 45-50 hours, bc of a particular file I've been working on that had deadlines that needed to be met.

During "tax time" (usually beg of Feb to end of Apr) standard work week is 40-45, which many of us working more depending on the amount of mess that needs to be done... its a CRAZY time of the year at an accounting firm. High stress, must work Saturday (at least make an appearance for appearances sake... (damn office politics))

Posted by Dr. DAS on Dec-05-2007 21:20:

I usually land around 60-70/week...6 or 7 days a week. The most I've ever pulled was 105hrs in 6 days while on tour...hooray for sleeping on road cases!

Seriously though, after a few weeks of doing 70hrs in 5 days, you're pretty much a lunchbox.

That doesn't include the hours I pull at the hostel on weekends/during shows.
