Maybe it's just the fact that SO MANY of these shooting sprees have happened in recent memory that I've become completely desensitized to them, but all I could think when I heard this was, "Cho's still the points leader".

The fact that I even chuckled at that makes me feel warped.

Naturally, one of the most critical factor's in one's psychological stability.

As the reference from Family Guy, the misinterpretation of the constitution "The right to bear arms"

I feel for the victims but am desensitized to the fact that this actually happens. Change your way of thinking and these kinds of killings will subside.

It's totally legal to own assault rifles in the States, so its not that weird.

ummm...what else is new in the states

exactly. i dont know why this is alarming news. have you(*) not noticed our trend? between every 3-6 months, we have some shit like this happen. not impressed at all

(*) by you, i mean generally all of you, not just you, afterhoursgurl

Posted by afterhrsgurl on Dec-06-2007 19:30:

yep exactly...what is it about the states though that made these incidents so common?? why mainly the states? you can't just blame it on the gun laws..that obviously plays a major role but i think there's more to it

Posted by Spin Laden on Dec-06-2007 19:30:

only in the States. And in Finland. And in Canada, most recently Dawson College in Montreal. Those Columbine kids started a nasty trend that probably won't stop anytime soon

well if you look at the amount of shootings that happened they are still waay more common in the states than in all the other contries you mentioned combined

i'll tell u why. its called treating people like shit. and in america, thats exactly what we do to EVERYONE(except the ones we like i.e friends, family- although alot of times they get fucked over too). We are a very proud people and with that comes that "I" attitude which brings the "I am awesome" or "you ain't shit compared to me" creating a huge ego. and when your ego is bruised/fucked with, you think retaliation. its human nature too i guess. but some americans like to kill more than others

hahhaha nice straight forward explanation sauce...you're becoming one of my fav TAs lol

i can't figure out what it is because i don't live there but you have an interesting point...i wonder if other americans share that view...i'm sure that many would say that it's the gun laws to blame primarily

even in Canada, it's not that hard to acquire an assault rifle. (only 5 round magazine, and semi auto only, plus you need a permit)

if a psycho wants to go on a shooting rampage, all this anti gun laws aren't going to change the fact that if you want a gun, there are always places that you can go to and get one. and if a person doesn't care whether he dies or not... well then, all the security measures won't prevent these things from happening

The shooter is usually an emo kunt. I wish they would just stick to killing themselves though

lol.. I meant "things are as they are" when i said "it is what it is " referring to your comment about me being straightforward..why sugar coat anything or add/take away from things as they really are? theres no point
