U2 plans to go Trance
The new U2 album will be influenced by the trance dance sub-genre, but will also feature hardcore guitars, according to frontman Bono.
Bono also said that fans can expect a "dancefloor shock" on the new album.
"Normally when you play a U2 tune, it clears the dancefloor. And that may not be true of this," he said. "There's some trance influences. But there's some very hardcore guitar coming out of The Edge. Real molten metal. It's not like anything we've ever done before, and we don't think it sounds like anything anyone else has done either."
Apparently their production sessions with Brian Eno forced them to tweak their sound.
Never been a hardcore fan of they're minus a few songs, but I'd really like to see what they will pull this off on this album as well as what remix's are spawned (or remix contest)
very interesting
hmmm yes this could be interesting
excellent been waiting for this for awhile now i mean come on a lot of their tracks have been remixed to be trancey it ll be interesting to see what they do with it
U2 can pull this off, they've already done some industrial-ish tracks before and were good too, so it might be interesting... and as a fan of metal music also I'm def. looking forward to hearing some heavy guitar riffs.
Anyone know the release date of their new album?
Should be interesting.
I have always been a huge U2 fan, so I am very interested to see how this is going to turn out. If anyone can pull it off, they will be able to do so
When I saw Bono at Crobar for I forgot which event .. AvB, Tiesto or PvD.. can't remember which.. I said to myself.. WTH is Bono doing here? That night was a night of trance energy. How does Bono of U2 fit into this? Moments later, U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name (NU-NRG Remix??) [Somebody please confirm; can't remember] came across the speakers; so I said to myself.. probably just here to check out the venue. If Diddy and Rodman show up.. why not Bono?
So I guess with U2's new approach to the music business .. I guess seeing him at a trance event makes kinda sense now (with the whole trance approach)?
yes yes very interesting

U2 - Electrical Storm (William Orbit Mix) was awesome. I have high hopes.
I am also a huge 1980-1990 U2 music fan.
