Flashback: Purple Haze - Adrenaline

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFVFS4RWj2E

What do you rate it out of ten?

8.7. Absolutely love it.

5/10

not the best tune ever nor the worst.

I never understood the hype around this track. It sounds like a darker, techier version of Armin's Sail (well at least the melody) and a very depressing background.

+1, purple haze - eden
or
4 strings - take me away (purple haze remix) are kind of similar, and are so much better !!

Slightly darker, but I still enjoy it 7/10

i like this tune. an 8/10 for me. like the flow in it.

Yeah I like this one. It was one of the better tracks on TPOD2.

I'd say it sounds more like Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink.
Listen to the original or the james holden remix for an ever better comparison:

Rush is my favourite Purple Haze track. Never rated this one.

I liked this one immediately upon hearing it, and even though the climax isn't dramatically different from the build-up, the melody, atmosphere, and intensity were enough to keep everything quite interesting. Definitely worthy of multiple listens.

I actually wish SvD produced more under his Purple Haze alias, as even though it had such an obvious signature to it, it's when I find him most enjoyable (though I think he plans to abandon that alias and just lump everything under "Sander van Doorn" from now on).

8/10

I've always though the percussion work in this track is amazing and the dark overall feel is awesome. 7/10 its not a perfect tune but it's definitely not short of good.

I've heard a lot of his tracks though and they are all great.

but Purple Haze along with the four strings remix are ace

Eden > Adrenaline

Flashback? It's from 2005 for fuck's sake...

Anyway, I liked it back in the day, now it's really nothing special.
Still, the beat at the start of it is cool. Once the melody kicks in it's somewhat hard to hear, meh...

Love it! 9/10.

8/10 a good tune on both pod2 and passport to the netherlands

I really haven't listened to much Trance for the last 3 years but this track along with Eden are two of my favs during this period. Like everyone has said, it has a nice dark feel to it which is a nice change from the fluffy and epic stuff.

8/10 for me!

9/10 awesome track

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Dec-12-2007 02:14:

I've always liked SvD's style, the dark atmosphere with the rough percussion. If he would leave out the pointless breakdowns and put some more evolution into his productions, they would be better.

Yeah, didn't have to flash too far back for that one. Oh well, it's worth commentary nonetheless.

Posted by XRVOL on Dec-12-2007 02:28:

Its still flashing back in time.

I have no regrets. lol

Posted by Salegon on Dec-12-2007 02:54:
