Joris Voorn

I have recently started to listen to Joris Voorn. I have been a trance/house head for a while but Joris sound is amazing to me very melodic techno/dark to!

his Live at Communication 2/18/2006 is amazing!!

what does the ta population think about him?

Posted by chesco on Dec-11-2007 20:41:

He's one of my favourite producers over the last 3 or 4 years. I buy near enough everything he makes.

The muted tracks series being his best work to date..

Posted by Ian on Dec-11-2007 20:44:

He's done some very good stuff.

incident, zeronine & his remix of secret cinema - see myself are sublime. His work with Alexander Kowalski was also top notch

Posted by Neon Sky on Dec-11-2007 20:53:

Yeah, he has released some amazing tunes. From A Deep Place is great

Posted by miamitranceman on Dec-11-2007 20:56:

"It Ain't Our World" is my favorite track from him.

Yes. And Dirty Thoughts, Lucid Dreams and The Deep...
As I said yesterday: definitely the best album of 2007

Posted by bas on Dec-11-2007 22:04:

Love his work with Rejected. Solid producer on his own as well.

Posted by SMC on Dec-11-2007 22:12:

Both his albums are absolutely brilliant. I love that there is effort put into making the albums a truly interesting experience for the listener, not just a boring collection of club tracks.

He does some fine remixes too:

Alexander Kowalski - Days Of The Liar
Paul Kalkbrenner - Press On
Vince Watson - Intuitions

Techno goodness.

great all around

Me likes. Incident is another great tune done by him.

I've heard very nice things about him as a person. My friends brought him to play in NYC a while ago, and he was kind to them during their trip to Amsterdam.

Top guy, I hear

DJing wise, listen to his RA podcast, really good stuff

Posted by nefardec on Dec-12-2007 18:34:

also his set at dissonanze in rome last year

it took place in the palazzo dei congressi - this huge modernist government building of the fascist period, in a 50 meter cubic central space

Lol - how I misssed this one, god only knows.

But yes - Voorn is a favorite, one of the few producers who I actually played many, many productions from this year, and one of the finest live DJ's currently trekking the planet (though I really wish I had the chance to see his live PA).

I know Chesco and a few others in this thread have talked about it before, but the sound coming from the Dutch techno scene the past few years has been absolutely massive.

"Blank", "Let's Go Juno", "Minor", and the Rejected mix of "Chica-Go" have all been pretty much on constant repeat since I got them.

And +1 to whomever it was that said to check out his RA podcast - it's fire.

I really think you'll like Joris, Mel. He's a solid blend of tech-house that borders on full on house, and techno that is heavy, heavy on the classic "trance noises."

Very melodic, exceptional programming - Voorn just kind of seems to me the kind of DJ who you'd enjoy.

Posted by Coastie on Dec-13-2007 15:11:

Mel glad to see you are doing so good in New York! Trust me Voorn takes you on a ride his set buildups are amazing!!

and Liebing just prepare to the the Robot, nothing but grimey techno there pure goodness!!! if I go to Ibiza next year which i probably will since I am studying abroad in Spain, I will def make it to the Liebing party at SPACE!!!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Thanks RJT & Coastie! For some reason I am really excited for this party. Even though it's on a Thursday . This will be my first time going out on a work night. I just have a feeling it'll be worth it the next day.

Thumbs up

MPX_309 is still the bollocks.

One of my favorite producers.
