Korg Zero4

Anyone here have any experience with this mixer? It looks flashy and glamorous - but does it perform? I'm especially interested in utilizing the midi controllers but may probably just purchase a Xone92...any feedback is appreciated!

Theres also the new EVO5 from ECLER...www.evobyecler.com If youre looking at hybrid MIDI/Firewire mixers, this is KING!

I am also thinking about getting this mixer (upgrading from a DJM-400)

anyone care to post an in depth review of theirs?

Well fuck, thanks a lot - now I have to convince Myra that we should purchase this instead of a DJM 800 rotary.

Seriously though, great review - would love to get my hands on one of these things. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I really wanna try this sucker out. My local GC doesn't have it on display. Maybe I can convince them to un-box one. I'll act really interested...

Here's another mixer (Ecler Nuo4) that seems to be solid - also has a comparison with the Allen&Heath Xone92 and some other top notch mixers. It has a MUCH simpler layout than the zero4...and although it doesn't have built in effects, there is a Send/Return connection (and some fantastic knobs that looks much sturdier than the zero4). Check out this review (I think I'm going to purchase this one):

As a proud owner of a zero8, i am simply very happy with the product Korg has put to the table. If you have the extra money i would really suggest going for the 8 over the 4. The sound isn't quite as good as Allen and Heath products, but it is steady and the functionability as well as the user friendlyness makes this product a gem in my books. The latency is to die for.

I hear there is a sound quality issue with these korg mixers, could anybody conform? I'm looking at the zero 8 and a monome 64 but since I have the xone 64 I can't justify downgrading the sound quality.

Posted by callme:gsmile: on Dec-18-2007 03:01:

some of the earlier models had an issue with white noise but the problems have been resolved (i never had these problems). Like i stated before the sound quality isnt quite as warm as the allen and heath stuff, but everything else pwns the shit of them...and i say this as someone who used to own a& h stuff.

The only issue i've had is the volume on the headphones and how the settings when you cue were really sharp.. but Korg released an update and fixed it (and many other things too)

I only need to hear how the EQs and the effects sound like. Warmth could always be added as long as the mixer lets you send the master channel via firewire to Ableton. This mixer is so exciting I cant wait to get rid of my xone 62 and MK3s.

Posted by Hasneez on Dec-18-2007 16:45:

there are 11 settings for the eqs.. im not sure if you've seen this, but it might help!
