If you just want to have a quick go at things and test it out for free, check out Beatport Synch. It's basically Traktor DJ studio slimmed down, but with a Beatport skin.

EDIT.

You can buy the X-Session Pro for 99 cad at MOOG Audio on Queen.

Then you can download a free copy of Torq for MAC here http://www.m-audio.com/?do=products...orqLEmac&form=1

Just to be clear, I believe he needs them for a Mac

I'm sure most of the programs have dual support (Mac/Windows) like Ableton Live and stuff.

Ableton Live does have a sequencing component to it...great program when used properly.

not only that but in version 7 they added a bunch of new features that are great for doing peformances.

I don't perform so I couldn't speak to that...it's a good tool in the lab, though.

On a side note does anyone know how and what equipment you need to hook up Tracktor or any of these Dj progs to a real mixer so i don't have to use a mouse but yet will have both channels come out of the laptop i'm thinking a dual soundcard ??

with traktor, it only supports one soundcard at a time, you need one with two stereo outputs, and also a midi controller so you dont have to use a mouse. with a laptop, something like a firewire audio card would work well, M-audio offers a few, but i opted for the PCI Card instead.

if your soundcard supports DSP you can get custom audio drivers like kX to customize the signal flow through your card andinto your cards outs... but its abit of a pain.

Comes bundled with Cubase and Gigastudio...powerful little box and TASCAM is A1 for gear IMO.

Or...
