Dunno The flags

I tried to choose the flag of my country in the country chart, but I couldn't find Basque Flag, so I had to put European Flag
If there are other "countries" like Greenland, Gibraltar, Scotland, Wales or Norfolk Island, why not Basque Country (also called Euskadi, Euskal Herria, Pas Vasco, Pays Basque, ...)?

Posted by eXos on May-01-2002 14:45:

Is it a country?

NO! Its a region!

I (and Basque People) don't agree with that. Basque Country is a country like his name says (Basque Country) It hasn't an own state like also Scotland and Wales that are in Great Britain. We are divided in Spanish and French state, but we are a country like Scotland and Wales.

Otherwise Gibraltar is included like a country, and it isn't a country. It's a British colony.

If Gibraltar, Scotland and Wales are included, why Basque Country not?

I haven't seen a Frisian flag goddamnit!

next thing is that swamper has to add the flags of every state in America and every province in the world

I haven't said anything about provinces. I'm talking about the countries. We have the same political status that Scotland and Wales. And of course much more than Gibraltar for example.
I'm only asking: "Why they have their flags and we not?"
You said that Basque Country is not a country. That is a non-sense. Basque Country = Pas Vasco (Pas means country in Spanish) = Pays Basque (Pays means country in French) = Euskal Herria (Herria means country in Basque Language) = Euskadi (that word was invented by Sabino Arana. The founder of Basque Nationalist Party)
So this means that Basque Country is a Country. Nobody call it like Basque Region or anything like that. Also Spanish and French President says "Pais Vasco" or "Pays Basque".

And the question is "Why Scottish, Welsh and Gibraltarian flags appears and Basque Flag not?"

so you are saying, just because it has country behind it, it should have his own flag, so that means that Miss Proximus should have her flag for Friesland <--means country in dutch.....

it is a flag for countries, and basque isn't a country....

Sorry, but you're confusing the terms
-Most of Basque People hates ETA too (I hate it too). We hate the use of the violence to impose the ideas, although they could be good ideas.

-Basque People aren't terrorist. This is like Red Brigades for example in Italy: Nobody says that Italian are terrorist because of Red Brigades. This is very similar.

-Basque Country is a country. The actual political status says that Basque Country is a country. The actual Statute of Gernika (Organical Law 3/79 18-12-1979) says clearly that Basque Country is a country. I don't have any English translation of the text, but in the Basque version and in the Spanish Version it says clearly. It doesn't says anything about region or province

And the question that hasn't received any answer is:
-Why Scotland and Wales are countries and not part of Great Britain?
Basque Country, Scotland and Wales are the same political status inside European Union. And Gibraltar of course is not a country
I don't know anything about Friesland (I don't know where it is and I don't know its political status), but if you think it's a country too, you have right to ask the flag be inserted.

And the only question that now I have asking is:
What is the difference between Scotland or Wales and Basque Country?

Please, answer that last question

If you want to have the basque flag in every post that you make, please put it in your signature as you make in your first post and everybody will be happy:

you, because you have your basque flag,

and the rest of the people, because this stupid issue would be finished.

REMEMBER:

THIS IS A FORUM FOR TRANCE MUSIC, NOT FOR POLITICAL ISSUES.

Thanks,

I don't agree with you. This section isn't for Trance Music. I could say the same about your argues about Champions League. Is this a forum for football? No

This section of the forum (Site suggestions) is for this. We have the right to follow with this issue and argue about that

If forum's administrator doesn't accept this petition, I will that you say (put in my signature as I make in my first post), but I think I should try it.

Otherwise I don't annoy to everybody writing this "stupid"?? issue. If you don't like it, don't read this section and everybody will be happy:

you, because you won't have to read "stupid" issues,

and rest of the people because they could argue civically and democratically about the essential question of the issue:

What is the difference between Scotland, Wales, Gibraltar or Oakland Island and Basque Country?

Posted by jlosada on May-02-2002 20:40:

Basque Country?

No,

VASCONGADAS

They call that country:

Tyne & Wear!

Posted by Spad on May-03-2002 01:01:

I don't see what the problem is if he wants a flag. Does it really make any difference to anybody else? Honestly? Why all the negativity? If the people that live there class it as a country nobody else has any right to say otherwise.

Anyway it's 2am and I'm bored so I made one.
