Rockwood Grass Club

The concept is hilarious, but the club is stunning!

When I first heard about this, I pictured Jungle

First floor = Rock theme

Second Floor = Wood theme

Third Floor = Grass Theme

quite the beautiful club from lookin at the pics
crowd doesnt look too pretentious...but music is probably lame and its prolly quite expensive there...

I went there for my birthday, it was nice, the music was top40 mixed in with some house and older (1990s) hiphop (on the top floor). The only thing I didn't like was everyone was trying to sell something, giving out business cards and crap. I don't do much clubbing in Toronto, is this a common occurrence at other clubs?

crowd doesn't look too pretentious?

How can you tell from pictures... and ones that don't have any people in them even?

Can't be more pretentious than C Lounge or Ultra! At least they have a pretty cool theme that you are paying for.

I have never really experienced selling through business cards.
I get the odd business card for the purpose of receiving their number, but that's the extent.

You don't do much clubbing in Toronto??? That's a shame, you should get out more

Totally.

I would check it out simply because it's completely unique to Toronto, or at least to my knowledge.

I don't necessarily dig that scene, obviously, but it's worth the venture.

I got a card for 50% off designer glasses and another one for some clothing store, maybe they saw what I was wearing and thought I needed some style.

The venues top notch.. A room for the "models & bottles", as some would refer (wood), a room for the beat cravers who want to hide in the darkness (rock) and a place to smoke, chill out and mingle (grass). Most importantly the operating owner (who typically are the ones that matter) happens to be a tre-cool guy who use to manage EXIT- many years back fostering a large part of the electronic music in dance clubs and Toronto after-hours, many years back Some of your favorites, Sean Miller, Dj ADDY, Nathan Barato all people a part of its history.

This past weekend, ROCK WOOD just held the 10year exit reunion party, with a bunch of faces from the scene old and new, and the vibe was top notch.

The venues pretty and sometimes rocking out to beats in a space that is dressed is needed. Rock holds a tight vibe for those that need it a bit darker.

Grass - the patio, which now is (tis the season) used as the smoking patio, (warmed by heat laps) is place to mingle for moment or two.

A fan of the venue, the management, the owners and the bartenders... obviously on your visit make sure its your kind of Jam.

Long live beautiful spaces, and creative places!!
