hmmm, i heard nothing about this until i saw a bulletin about 10 minutes ago. wish i knew.

just got back from the show. He is complete garbage. total waste of $25. This was one of the worst shows i've witnessed at Vanguard in a long time. Granted he is a very technically sound dj, his track selection as well as flow was sooo bad.

I had fun. Played some songs that hit the spot. Messed with the Poison song a lil bit.

Chicago House? Is that his style?

He's from New York! A town that forgot about quality dance music a long time ago.

he played pretty much what i expected him too....first 30 minutes was really good...then an hour of lets just say interesting music choices...then the last hour was pretty good again.

he's known for dropping a lot of rock stuff and a bit of hiphop in there too as he did last nite.

thought he would have dropped more of his own productions than he did. the new remix of Spin Spin Sugar is pretty sweet....please ID the remix if anyone knows it....

i was told he came with some 'industry' people so he did drop some more commercial tunes i guess.

the Daft Punk edit he started with was cool tool.

i'm talking about the brand new remix....Pete Tong also played it recently at Vanguard....Sharam didn't know the name of it either when AVH dropped it on Sat.

i'm guessing that's a new remix of the old Prodigy song (The Prodigy - Out of Space). not sure if the vocal was originally done for the Prodigy song or they sampled it themselves. though it could be just a new song built around the vocal sample as i don't remember anything else from the original being in it.

Nah, it was an old song. "I'm gonna send it to outer space, to find another ...."

I do like how he goes back to a track you would thing was long gone.

That is the Prodigy - Outta Space. It was released back in 1992. However, that song has been remade and bootlegged so many times. There's a new version of it going around.

Im gonna venture a guess that it was Mischa Moor - Space (Klaas Remix)

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Dec-18-2007 04:08:

that is an old reggae song. It has been remixed by everybody. Skazi even played a remix of it 2 weeks ago. But the original is a reggae song i think from back in the 80's

and helden is aweful, saw him play like 2 years ago at spundae. GARBAGE! And he is so sure that he is so cool as well. I hate that new york cool dj attitude

that's it! thanks...

i figured that it wasn't the Prodigy that wrote that sample....though with Leroy in the band back in the day who knows it could have been him LOL.

It's Max Romeo - Chase The Devil.
There must be hundreds of tracks that use that damn sample.

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Dec-18-2007 07:25:

is it Bob Marley - i shot the sheriff?

i figure everyone is else is putting up suggestions, why not me!
