"unplugged" remix?

what does "unplugged" really mean?

i see a lot in gabriel and dresden remixes

dave dresden explained in some thread back in 2004 or so, in the 'unplugged' remixes that they did, it was the ones they used live bass, live guitar and that kind of thing.

They need to do more of them. That's the sound that made them originally.

"System F - Cry Unplugged" first came to mind for me. If memory serves me correct, that pretty much was an acoustic version of the song... Basically non-EDM at all.

indeed. As montana stated, it's versions using guitar, bass etc rather than synths. Definitely a good sound when applied to the right song.

not really, as far as i understand bass guitar and a few other instruments may be plugged to some kind of amplifier.

unplugged to me is that it's a live version without any studio/digital re-mastering
