tricky sentence

i just told someone on the phone "folding socks sucks."

had a hard time saying it... socks and sucks are pronounced the same or differently?

Posted by lcid on Dec-17-2007 17:26:

socks rhymes with fox. sucks rhymes with fucks.

are you actually folding socks or are you making sockballs?

well i do not like making sockballs and pairing them up.. so normally i just toss them all in a drawr and i always have mismatched socks.

the rest of my clothes are nicely folded though

Sockballs FTW.

And I had to say it out loud to decide that yes, in reality, socks and sucks are pronounced differently. However, I'm sure in some accents would, they would be pronounced the same way.

Posted by denys envy on Dec-17-2007 18:43:

rofl same, except i can't juggle, so i just throw them at people

Posted by lcid on Dec-17-2007 19:01:

i used to just throw all my socks in the sock drawer, but in an effort to save time while getting dressed in the mornings in a slightly dark bedroom, i've started making sockballs again.

Posted by denys envy on Dec-17-2007 19:03:

in my younger more lovable days whenever my girlfriend would get mad at me i'd go grab one of her socks and put it on my hand (sockpuppet) and reach over her shoulder and talk with it -

"i'm sowwwy, pwuees fogiv meee... i've been a bad sockpwuppet."

its a sentence. Buffalo [the animal] buffalo [to indimidate] Buffalo [the city].
you can keep adding buffalo to the sentence and it'll be gramatically and syntactically correct

spelling mistakes, incorrect syntax, & lack of punctuation, all rolled into a run-on sentence.
