draw automation or use the peak controller...search for peak controller methods via google or within this site.

The FL Envelope Controller gives more flexibility.

DB Sidechain Compressor works well too

I used to just use the regular Fruity Compressor but now I much prefer the Peak Controller. Not necessarily a compression method but very flexible and easy.

What is a good ratio for sidechaining? Lot of places write infinity which means the maximum ratio? Why is this?

I always use the peak controller, it takes a bit of fiddling to get the thing ducking in time, but gives good results with very low CPU overhead.

If anybody wants i'll post a couple of presets up that you can use.

depends on the effect you're trying to go for.

i use the peak controller as a trigger and link it to the compressor or the built-in FL stereo enhancer (linked to the volume) depending on the sound i'm looking for.

that would be sweet if you did

If you are just looking for simple ducking of pads try the Twisted Lemon plugin 'Sidekick'. Saves a lot of faffing around with peak controller that can prove to be quite difficult to get the result that you are looking for.
Doesn't work well with other elements other than kick though. If you are looking to duck with vocals or other stuff then peak controller is the way to go.

cheers

for simple sidechaining, i load a peak controller in the fx channel for the bassline (as an example), and link the channel volume to the internal LFO on the controller.
set the pattern to saw, unmute and adjust the peak, base knobs for the LFO, and set the timing to get the desired results.
