Sneaker Pimp Attn ALL PRODUCERS

I am making 3 compilation mix cds called For the People by the People. The tempos for each of these will be 125(BPM), 140(BPM), and 180(BPM). I am looking for songs of all styles. If you are interested in having a track/song on it please send me a cd via regular mail or email. The mailing address for cds is 5020 Elmhurst Unit C West Palm Beach FL 33417. If you are going to email it to me please make sure the song is compressed using win-zip and is less than 10megs in size. The email address to send it to is [email protected] . I am looking for artists that are not signed to any major labels. The whole point of this is to find artists that have not been discovered yet. If you are signed you may still send in a track. Make sure that you include information for me to contact you by; Such as Artist Name, Mailing address, Email Address, Phone Number, Track name, BPM, and style of music that you consider it. You may submit as many tracks as you would like. If your track is selected we will be posting your contact information on the cd. The reason I am doing this is because I feel that there is a lot more hot music out there than what is being pressed to record. This mix cd could open some doors that might not have been available to you before. Since most producers are DJs, you could get some bookings from doing this. I will be doing a tour as well in support of the cd. Since I am putting your contact info directly on the cd, people will be able to contact you directly. If you have any questions or concerns then feel free to email me at [email protected]

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I'm predicting epic failure.

Good luck though.

Posted by Digitalbil on Dec-26-2007 02:23:

Epic failure?? Nahh... I bet I will find some bomb music out there that no one has heard and help get some new producers heard...

Stay Positive... 180 BPM?? Yes I produce all kinds of music and I did not want to not include any certain styles of music...

I think DnB is high bpm. Dunno how high.

Posted by Lunar Phase 7 on Dec-26-2007 02:27:

It clocks out around 170 usually.

Hardcore around 160.

180 is pretty fucking high, and pretty much limits what styles can go there (e.g. only DnB really)

you are fucking crazy if you think anyone will listen to 180 bpm tracks. Just pitch up Samim Heater as fast as you can and get Alvin and the Chipmunks to do vocals.

No reason to be a dick... Pour out your hateraid and have a nice cup of shut the fuck up.

I have this message up on a lot of boards and have had a very positive response... I wonder why there is sooo much hate in here...

Digital Bill

180pm is an average tempo for Drum & Bass and Jungle...

And why such strict guidelines?

Why not 115-128(this lets you get the downbeat and perhaps some ambient?)
136-146(This lets you have house, trance and techno)
170-180 (DnB obviously)

At least that way you can have the compilation gradually increase/decrease/sparodic in BPM instead of everything being the exact same.

For example with that... you could have nice relaxing downbeat stuff (plenty of pads) on the first disc... moving into trance on the second... moving into house and have a final breakbeat track or two. With DnB on the last and having a downvibe last few tracks.

post of 2007 IMO

Posted by Digitalbil on Dec-26-2007 02:56:

Its just a guideline to start with... no one ever follows the instructions perfectly... If I say the cd will be around 180BPM.. People will submit stuff at 190 and as low as 165 to 170...

Yeah he used to stomp me back in the 80's .when people bought tapes... but now people just download... and digital is the way... . analog William has not aged well...

AZ>.. Look if you dont like what I am doing then leave the thread alone... no reason to be a jerk about it.

Posted by callme:gsmile: on Dec-26-2007 03:06:

ok im going to try and be positive, because i am very curious. Do you intend for this to be dance music?? At that speed people can't keep up...(now im no fan of dnb and to each their own but you cant fucking dance to it either) At that speed , its definately not a listening piece either. Please explain where you are going with this as i am genuinely curious.

Why not?

Posted by Digitalbil on Dec-26-2007 03:13:

The 180BPM cd will be mostly Drum and BAss/Jungle...

I figured this to be a trance board so I figured most tracks will be around 140.... but I did not want to cut out breaks or speed garage or even progressive music.. that is why I am gonna do multiple cds...

Posted by callme:gsmile: on Dec-26-2007 03:13:

i used to love schranz man... unless you are on enough pills to be pac man level 56 its fucking hard to keep up. This is just my opinion of course.

Good looking out man, keep the right energy like this with you, ignore these haters, and make music.

peace & best of luck

I remember either this year or last, Mylo sat in for the Tongster and did the essential selection one time.

He played this track at 180 bpm, and the funny part was, not only was it an ok track, it actually didn't sound as fast as it was.

It was electronic but not exactly 4 to the floor style.

I suspect however that Digital-Phil is after some speedcore style stuff though

Seriously Wil, give it a rest with the pill-head music, it has to stop, it's by far the dumbest music ever invented and it's the type of shit that gives EDM a bad reputation.

Machine-gun industrial-core!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
