Where's the party at Tampa?
sup everyone, just wanted to get some info on any parties..house..trance..tech..in the TB area..Im visiting from the west coast..and needed an EDM fix..
any suggestions?
thx
don't know anymore man. they have closed down a few places. I believe churchills/frequency still plays good music on the weekends. Their's suppose to be a new club called honey pot or something opening now that they have got rid of EDM from Amphitheater.
Hyde Park Cafe.
Do a search, theres been some other threads asking about places in Tampa. You can find out more about HPC in those threads.
the raw lounge in ybor
hi meeko
does anyone just like to spin records at the house..or have lil edm get togethers.
anything from house, trance, or techno??
be nice to meet some more ppl that are into the scene.
i like to. but most of my friends are into shit music.
Floyds at the Hard Rock. on friday or saturday nites, House, trance, techno. double check www.djsatana.com, he's one of the residents there. that webpage will let you know whats up there.
Honey Pot is not going to be an edm club. Its a cabaret show club with top 40/hip hop playing. All the guys that Amp fired moved their show there for new years, but they are all terrible anyways. Don't expect Honey Pot to be worth anything for dance music.
Fusion (Gbar) on Thursday nights
Hyde Park Cafe on Friday nights
The Flo Lounge
its on ulmerton in clearwater, but right over the franklin bridge. I live on rocky point in tampa it takes me 10min.

One reason I like it is they dont wait until 2am to start playing good shit like floyds, its on all night. closes at 2am though, but hey you can head to floyds after...
flo lounge is cheesy, its the younger douchebag crowd (frat guys, dumb blondes that ask for hip hop)
hpc is probably the best quality music, but the smallest dancefloor youve probably ever seen in a "club", ever. my living room where i have dance parties at home is bigger. small and "clique" -y.
czar in ybor ive heard is getting much more popular and is quickly becoming a major spot now.
jacksons is expensive, cheesy music.
in st pete there's: the lobby at the detroit. ever since they started playing minimal, bad crappy dark goth minimal, its been clearing out to the point where its only 5 or 6 people on the dancefloor. really sad.
palm bay club. only been open a few months. music is ok but most of the time its an empty dancefloor with everyone outside or at the bar bobbing their heads. this place has the best "scene". the crowd is almost 100% internet geeks/djs (tampahousemusic.com) and their girlfriends. it has a friendly family community feel to it of "supporters".
just opened last weekend is club push. a lot of money was put into this place, very nice and clean and futuristic looking. very nice decorating. its huge. 3 floors. beautiful place. music is "ok". its almost like flo lounge version 2, the same douchebag crowd from flo lounge moved over to here but mixed with some of the older crowd. now that i think about it, this is probably the best major EDM club in the whole bay area.
you can group the places by music: flo lounge, jacksons, club push are all commercial cheesy electro house music. hpc, the lobby, palm bay play underground style like straight normal house and minimal.
I would say HPC is a notch above The Lobby as far as music though. Maybe 2.
HPC's Snatch Nights w/ Three are fantastic.

made it to Push last night. The place is pretty nice. It was packed, but NO SMOKE inside. How awesome is that?? Music was..... just ok. It was Lux playing older mainstream house. Her stuff was really dated,... i sure hope she has newer records than that.
I figured the drinks would be more than they were. It will be interesting to see when Starkillers come to town.
trancebrat's house. but I'm not invited
