Exclamation Any payroll ppl here??

If so... I need your help.

If you have msn it would be even more kick ass.

I do not understand Quarterly taxes [Form 941] . Like what to do if you haven't filed any previous quarters.

i haven't done payroll before but i'll try to help out from what i've learned in school. there's most likely going to be a penalty for not depositing. the tax rules are always changing so it would probably be best to call the IRS directly and ask them the proper way to file it and what penalties are involved. also, you can probably ask the company that audits your company how to handle it. you can try searching on www.taxalmanac.org to see if they have any information.

just file the W2s under Section C, then call the tax revenue representative and let him now of your situation, he will forward an application form to the office for you to fill out where you can declare the basic income profit margin, therefore establishing the proper tax cut.

Re: Any payroll ppl here??

I was involuntarily volunteered to do taxes one year, (it was actually quite fun!) so maybe i can help. Now don't quote me on this, its been a few years.

If your boss did not file for the past quarters, then he can penalized 5% for taxes that are unpaid each month. If i remember correctly this is capped at 25%. So in essence he gets penalized for only 5 months.

Def he's going to get penalized.

I just think we had to fill out some state tax forms as well!

it's a mission without an actual cpa/payroll person in this company.

What are you doing; running a corporation?

Talk to the company accountant or lawyer. If your the accountant, talk to the lawyer about tax regulations and what is required..
