"The Pond" on 42nd street @ Bryant Park. It's free (just skate rental) and, obviously, free is good, compared to ridic high prices @ Rockefeller Center, for a smaller skating space... It's at 42nd street & 6th avenue?

something less full of tourists would be great, one of our group members is well over 6'6"; that's a lotta people to take out when they fall!

Well, that won't work cause we'll be up for the weekend (K&A) so we need stuff to do. so it's Bryant Park or Central Park.

That's initially where I looked, couldn't find anything about public skating though.... only "Ice Theater..."

just keep in mind that normally around the holidays the Central Park Skating Ring might have like a 2 hour line and then the skate renting kid might drop a funny that they out of skates in your size and you got to wait longer. (which used to be my favorite joke when i worked there as a kid to play on poor tourist after they stood in line for two hours)

do it before the end of the year then you'll feel like you have accomplished something in 2007.
