Zombie Nation - Gizmode [UKW Records]

A. Gizmode (Original Mix) (Click here for Sample)
B. Filter Jerks (Original Mix) (Click here for Sample)

"Gizmode" is a really farty tune that I'm not sure I care for all that much, but even though I don't know that I'll ever have the opportunity to play it, "Filter Jerks" is just a fun track. Really kind of hands in the air, hypnotic, sort of glictchy but still melodic techno - I really, really like it.

Edit: Added samples.

A. It's one guy.

2. I think Kernkraft 400 only came out in 99.

Yeah, Zombie Nation has come out with a decent amount of productions after Kernkraft 400... though they are mainly hit or miss for me. Will check out the samples when I get home

There's been about three ZN albums since Kernkraft 400. I remember that Png Png was fairly popular when it came out. Also, ZN used to be a duo (Splank/John Starlight and Mooner), but Mooner left after the first album in 2000.

Can't say I like this release all that much. A-side is pretty awful and gimmicky, and the b-side is just ok. Splank has a habit of taking the messing around a bit far, and that's pretty much what happened here by the sound of things.

I think that's one of the biggest reasons I can't see playing it - it just sounds like a really, really good idea that was executed in a pretty messy way.

Me loves the whole release, as well as Pang Pang way back when. Though farty, Gizmode is groovy as hell (along with Splank)
