January 2008 Transfer Thread and Rumors

So far, Berbatov wants to leave Tottenham for a bigger club

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...=494623&cc=5901

I wonder where he will end up. I know Sir Alex Fergueson has been eyeing him for a while.

Posted by Elior on Jan-01-2008 09:11:

Sounds like he's moving to Chelski. Around the 26m pounds.

1) they play alot more than 10 mins a week
2) some of them prolly make more money than they have done in the entire football career, srsly, those sheiks for exemple are soooo loaded
3) i believe they still enjoy it
5) so it's easy oney at the end of your career
4) but yeah, it's fucked up

Yeah I don't see how someone can't understand that. Seems obvious to me.

Posted by Elior on Jan-03-2008 08:35:

heh, still can't seem to get it. just isn't clear why Figo can't be like Rui Costa for example and return to Portugal to play for his first team or something.

Anyways,

Branislav Ivanovic (sp?) from Lokomotiv Moscow to Chelski, around 9m pounds. Grant brings another defender? what for?

I know Terry's injured, but they've still got Alex, Carvalho and Ben Haim who play at centre back. Seems stupid to have five players battling for positions.

Wayne Bridge is being linked with the scousers (Liverpool)

As mentioned before hearing a lot in press linking Anelka and Chelsea.

5 players for 2 positions seems right about ok to me.

Avram and his nonsense

Afono Alves from Herenveen to Alkmaar for 18m euros. Huge amount of money, for a player whose good, I agree, but not THAT good.

Ottmar Hitzfield (Bayern Munich's Manager) will resign from his role at the end of the year. He's probably going to be the Swiss coach in the Euro.

Wtf?! I'm not surprised by the value, but a while ago he had half of the european top clubs trying to sign him, and he decides to move to AZ?!

i'm pretty sure the choice isn't his. bigger clubs in europe have better ways to spend 18 mil. and if AZ is willing to fork over that kind of price then good luck to both parties.

They prolly gave a million more for every goal he scored last game (7 )

Realistically the fifth player should be young up coming player from the Chelsea Youth Team. It's an easy way to stunt the development of your younger players by not giving them opportunities to play first team football.

Cohelo and hinkel deals both completed - apparently larsson shall be signing for us again as well.

Return of the king.

I reckon we might beat barcelona at this rate.

Even Banega (Boca) signed in Valencia for around $26m .

imo he's a brilliant midfielder, could play as a 50\50 and in more attacking positions. has skills and a great touch with the ball...
