Why exactly would anyone pay the price of an album for a chart?

I'm really confused here... I'm looking through beatport and theres a charts section... expecting this to be the top sellers or perhaps djs free charts... I see all these charts costing 15 bucks.

Seriously who pays for a chart?

Who'd pay for a CD album when the 2x12" is usually cheaper?

Yeah I've looked at charts before just to see what some DJ's are playing, but I would never buy someones month "top 10" or whatever.

...perhaps some people will just wind up liking every track on that chart, but I'm sure most people just pick up the individual tracks they want.

I don't think any of them have ever been free, and most of them aren't included in their 'most downloaded' section.

I can think of a few reasons.

A) They don't have decks

B) They aren't DJs

C) CDs often have bonus tracks the vinyl didn't have room for

D) CDs are easily duplicated

E) CDs are a lot easier to transport

Whoever worships a certain DJ, and must possess all those tunes?

F) It's easier to rip from CDs

G) CDs are far superior for compatibility

H) CDs take up much less space to store

I) CDs are more widely available to buy

J) I can download and burn my own.

Oh wait, that's a reason NOT to buy them.

Buying charts is awesome! It allows me to ascribe to the whims of the majority in one tiny little click!

For the same reason the average bedroom wannabe tiesto dj buys "IBIZA MEGA TRANCE CHILL VOLUME 34" and tell his friend he bought a techno album.
