Hello TXTA!

Hey all! I know you have a thread already for introductions, but I just couldn't bear to wait for someone to respond to me in it, lol. I know we seldom check ours in NYTA. So here's what I posted in there...

Hey guys, just thought I'd stop in and introduce myself now. I'm Erica, a NYTA. My Dad's side of the family lives in Bossier City, LA. I lived there for a while myself, worked at Best Buy in Shreveport, but now I'm back in NY. The next time I'll be down there visiting will be sometime in March, so hopefully there will be something cool in Dallas I could hit up. I figured now would be a good time to introduce myself and get to know you guys, and then maybe see some of you out in March.

Here's a pic of me from Kyau & Albert and Ronski Speed at Webster Hall last week...

and another one of me haha

Looking forward to getting to know / eventually meeting you guys

Don't know exactly when in March I'll be visiting yet. My father works on offshore oil rigs in Asia and recently got married over there. He and his new wife will be coming back sometime in March but I don't have the date yet. Hopefully it won't be around 3/14 cause PVD will be at Roseland Ballroom in NY and I'd hate to miss that. But hopefully there will be some cool parties by you guys on any day but that one, lol.

So hi everyone! Hope to get to know you guys

Packer....James Packer.

Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you too!

So are most of the ppl on here from Texas? I was looking at the party planner thread and all the stuff was mostly in Dallas, Austin, or SA. Do ppl post stuff on here from other areas? I don't really know what the scene is like down there at all. Do they have stuff in New Orleans?

Oh man. So I've gone through NYTA hazing, now I've got to go through TXTA hazing? Hopefully it's not so bad. They're rather harsh on the nOObs there. Thanks for the welcome Hope to run into you too.

no one is gonna haze you. we welcome new ppl. but we just dont like the guys that post threads on here advertizing cheezy music with 100k cars as parties.

I'm not James Packer btw...I'm Carlos. Packer is known for being the 2004-2007 Most Picked-On TXTA.

Let us continue in his legacy.

Hazing is such a harsh word

Darn! That was gonna be my next thread. Guess I'll have to think of something else now...

That's my poor friend Chris in NYTA right now. They are tearing him up! I keep telling him to stick it out. That someone else will join eventually and they'll leave him alone. Lol, poor guy.

Piece of advice: Make fun of Jonas (real name Steve) and you'll be fine.

That sounds like fun, I bet New Orleans especially. I've never been in LA, or the south for that matter, for New Years. And I've actually only been there for Mardi Gras once. I know, that's shocking right? I didn't meet my Dad or his side of the family until I turned 18 so I'm trying to make up for lost time.

For the first time ever this year I went into the city for New Years. However I didn't go in for the ball dropping. Imo that's madness and I'll never do it, lol. It's too crowded and crazy, I'd rather watch it on TV. I was worried about getting in later, with all the crowds, but by the time I took a 2:30AM train in, all the people were leaving and going the other way, so it wasn't terrible. So I had gone to a friend's house for dinner, champagne, and watching the ball drop. And then I went into the city for afterhours trance party from 4AM on. What a sick party and a great night! I think I've just now about caught up on my sleep from then, lol.

So it sounds like Carlos and I will get along just fine

nice answer!

anyways, yea, i don't think i have it in me to do times square for the ball drop. my friends actually own some building right there where apparently you can see it from their roof, but i have never taken them up on their offer. but i am about due for a trip back up to the nyc....

Come on over and visit! There is something to do nearly every weekend, sometimes more than one. And you have to choose, which sucks. And despite the hazing, NYTA is great. I've met so many awesome ppl through there. I brought my friend from HS, Liz, out to Kyau vs. Albert and Ronski Speed the other weekend. She had never been to a trance party in her life. Afterwards she was like, omg Erica! 'Cause I had introduced her to at least 40 people. Here's a link to my photobucket. I'm still working on updating it, but there are a lot of pics from parties in NY this past year.

Erica's Photobucket

Part of my new years resolution is to upload the photos and organize them in a timely fashion. Cause now I'm trying to go back over the past year and do it... and what a job that is, let me tell you! lol.

yea, its been a while. i was actually scheduled to be there next weekend, but decided not to go last minute. not sure when i am going to have the time to head that way....

i love the city (in small increments). but you are definitely right, there is always something to do and you usually end up having to choose one over another.
