Best International DJ set of 2007 (in Toronto)
So, it seemed like it was a good year. A far cry from 2006... the year international talent sucked hard in Toronto
So who spun your top set? Honestly it was pretty easy for me in 2007. Here is my top 3 of the year.
1. Moby (Decadence 4, 2007-04-05)
2. Carl Cox (Guv 11 ani, 2007-10-07)
3. Danny Howells (Footwork, 2007-09-22)
I just didn't know Moby was capable of what he did that night in the Kool Haus. The set was futuristic, but nastalgic. It was dreamy, yet hard enough at times to pump those fists. But the over all build, and the specific tracks he played were just out of this world. A new remix of Born Slippy here, a vocal sample from the early 90's there. All the while keeping the energy high enough in the big bad KH, with a true big room sound. The entire set put a big "WTF, am I actually hearing this" smile on my face.
Carl was Carl.![]()

Kyau vs Albert @ Docks - Uber trance. One of my fave sets of all time.
Andy Moor @ Fluid - awesome vibe, almost like a private party. Fantastic tunes.
Filo & Peri @ Docks - Amazing tunes, classic destiny vibe, and my last party in TO since the move.
Donald Glaude @ WEMF (Or the People's Marlboro anywhere, really...)
Rank1 @ US12 - More ubertrance. Talla was good that night as well.
For me,
Chris Liebing @ Footwork back in June.
After that set, the only other one that really, truly sticks out to me in my mind is,
Chris Liberator at WEMF in July!
(what a set too!)
Moby spinning in Toronto was probably a once in a lifetime event in Toronto. I totally lost it when he played 'It's Raining Again'!!!
But as an old schooler, I would say Mark Oliver's The Gift. It's always on top for me every year
Deadmau5'5 Guv debut in the Orange Room at Guv's 11th anniv. It was probably the last time we'll ever hear him play almost exclusively his OWN productions and remixes.
Need to think of my others...

I havent been to too many performances this year but my top ones are definetely:
Steve Lawler - Live at the Guv mainroom and Skybar(July 1)Has to be the best set ive ever heard.
The Scumfrog - Live at the Drink (around april i think) This set kept everyone dancing without a 2 sec breather for a good 2 hours that he spun.
Carl Cox
1. Liebing and Rohr at FW (FUCKING WOW - absolutely destroyed FW)
2. Danny Howells at FW (....speechless!)
3. Lawler at Guv Mainroom (Fucking TWISTED and DARK)
4. DJ Vibe at Mod Club (TRIBALICIOUS BABY)
5. Talla 2XLC in Guv [not US12 - Askew night] (best trance set heard to date)
Theres many more that stick in my head but I just posted the first 5 best ones that came to mind, 2007 was a seriously musical haven for me....AMAZING events, ones to remember for a lifetime
**edit: tenaglias and corstens marathon sets were PHENOMENAL as well **
Carl Cox - Hands down.
