Wow.....I'm a DJ

quote:
About Scott Anderson (DJ)
Scott began his DJ'ing career at the age of 18, and his first job was at the infamous VMs on Commercial Road in Prahran. When he was in love from the first moment he heard house and trance music and the beats and sounds of electronic music. He spent every week listening to many of Melbournes top DJs including Jason Prior, Queen Martine, Sean Read and Tristan Mason. He started what was to become his biggest hobby (and most expensive habit) - buying records every week. His first was Its Like That by Run DMC vs Jason Nevins, and the addiction of vinyl shopping bit him. From VMs Scott started to get to know people around the scene, and started to frequent clubs such as Dome, a club that was to forever shape his DJing future. Liquid was probably the first and most influential party on Scott. He loved the harder-edged uplifting trance, the amazing lasers and lighting, and also the friendliness of the old school party goers that you dont see today. He first heard music by Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Matt Darey, and his first favorite production team The Space Brothers which he shared with Jason Prior. From there he got his first Djing gig in Janes Bar @ the Dome. Looking back now, he laughs thinking about what he was playing (not to mention his mixing skills). From the Dome Scott moved on to do a few private parties before moving to Darwin for work. While in Darwin Scott played a few of the local clubs around town and started making a name for himself. He was asked to play the 1999/2000 Millennium party, a party that marked a turning point in his career; he started to take it a bit more seriously, and was determined to go as far as he could go with it. When Scott returned to Melbourne he concentrated on practicing and buying records and trying to make a name for himself. In 2003 the boys from Beyond approached Scott and asked him if he would be interested in playing for them at one of their famous leather/fetish parties. Scott jumped at the chance, and to this day is still a resident DJ. Scott then slowly started to gain work around Melbourne and Sydney, playing a few private events in Sydney. The next big party to ask Scott to play for them was Redemption (another leather and fetish party). Redemption was a great opportunity for Scott to demonstrate his ability to play different genres of music; anything from progressive to uplifting to hard NRG. The next party was XTC, which after the second party asked him to be one of their resident DJs. From XTC Scott then became a resident of the Rawhide parties. While working at XTC and Rawhide, Scott instantly made friends with other DJs such as Matt Steer and Neil Crawford, finding a lot in common with both music and ideas for future producing and parties together. Early in 2004 Scott was asked to be a guest on a friends radio show Saturdays on JOY94.9. He was invited to talk about current events, clubbing news, and to play some of the current tracks Scott was playing at dance parties. From there Scott became a regular daytime presenter and also went on to have his own Saturday night show, mixing current trance and hard NRG anthems live in the studio. While doing the Saturday night show Scott had the chance to interview Matt Darey from the UK, a long-held idol of his. The Saturday night program then gained a sponsor in the form of the DJ Mixing School in St Kilda, and from there became an instant friendship and working relationship between Scott and the School. DJ Mixing School then asked Scott if he would like to become a part of the school as one of their lecturers. Seeing a massive opportunity and also finding the school, its lecturers, and students such a warm and welcoming family, he couldnt say no to such a great chance to learn and workshop ideas with other like-minded people. Later in 2005, Scott has started to gain even more work, being asked to play at Red Raw 2005, which included the opportunity to play at one of Melbournes premier dance parties alongside the likes of Chris Cox (Thunderpuss) and Wayne G from the UK. Scott received interest from Sydney (and also Byron Bay) to play the dance parties that are becoming so popular up there, including the upcoming Tropical Fruits for NYE 2006 which he then played and also the 2006 Mardi Gras which was to become one of the highest points in his life and DJ career. 2006 saw Scott as a rising star with his career flying ahead of him after reaching his goal of playing in the Hordern Pavilion at the 2006 Mardi Gras too a record crowd of 20,000 people and very quickly had offers of work and residencies all over Australia and also overseas. In March 2006 Scott was offered a residency with Majik Productions one of Melbournes biggest production companies who put on Trance Nation, Revolution Saturdays @ Club Evolution and also hosted Jan Johnson @ Room 680 which was a huge opportunity for Scott to work with the famous trance diva from the UK. (p) Scotts plans for the future are to concentrate on moving up the DJ ranks in Australia and traveling overseas to meet and work with other DJs from Europe and the UK before returning home to seriously concentrate on producing his own tracks and working with DJ Matt Steer on production and remixing, and one day have his own record label.

So does anyone else share their name with a DJ or some Famous Person.

I have a pretty uncommon last name, so I doubt that any DJ has my real name.

Hey ChemEnhanced, I know a Scott Anderson who is a DJ/producer too and he's been around for over a decade producin stuff. I'm not sure if the bio you quoted matches him (I'm sure he knows Chris Cox), but he's pretty good (and throws awesome house parties).

I think I'll die if another "Jake Benson" pops up. There's a million Jake Bensons on the net but they all seem to be architects, philosophers, or dead people. Thank god.
