Infected Mushroom touring in Feb?
There's whispers on ITM that Infected are coming back, playing Metro on Feb 22. At least, that's what their website says...
Anyone in the know? I reckon I'll give them another go after I last saw them at the Music Bowl. They were ordinary that night, but much better last year so mates tell me.
...as much as IM were masters of Psy Trance 6 - 8 years ago so they are now masters of commercialism. Under pressure from the big label bosses, the boys submitted themselves to americanised style of popular music perception (as long as it has a rock guitar doing power riffs or solos then it is good music) and blended it with the remains of their legacy.
We saw the dilemma last year at the Metro and unless you like to support a sold out act and give your precious dollars to people who give a damn about what they sell as long as they sell then you are welcome...

if this were maybe 5 yrs ago id get excited
yeah yeah i've heard it all before
it's not psy any more, clearly, but IM are still a fun night out. i've seen enough great psy acts to appreciate that there's not a lot of trance left in these guys.
sometimes you just wanna jump around like it was your first night out again, you know? trance or not, sold out or in, IM still rock the joint.
feb 22nd at Metro, tis going to be as awesome as every other time i have seen them! IM rock!

Their sound may be a little different from my fave deep and mystic style of psytrance, but I totally respect them as musicians and everything they have accomplished over the years. Both in terms of psytrance and dance music in general.
Looking forward to 22nd of February very much!!

| Originally posted by wavemotion I thought the audience last year was quite respectable actually. Definitely a better looking bunch than I have seen at most other events around the city. Last time IM played, I actually loved the overall line up. Ozzy from Tribeadelic blew my mind and his set alone was well worth me being there! Hoping to see him close the room again!! |
I quite liked vicious delicious-- the title song has the maddest build-up
havn't seen em live before tho-- i'd go to this, if it weren't the night before airport (where's all my money!?!?!?)
What Wavemotion said
this is going to be off its head!
haven't seen any talk of tickets being advertised yet. have i missed this, or are they not available yet?

The Infected Mushroom phenomenon has swept every last corner of the planet.
