The secret to liking trance

Is that you never anticipate whats next, which turn the tune will take next, what beats will follow.. dont guess, just enjoy the present, whats playing right at that moment.

Haan?

Maybe thats the secret to liking a choon..

How does that differ from liking any other genre?

Both Pop and Hip Pop follow a pattern, a set tune and they repeat it with different lyrics throughout the song. Its as usual like that in Trance?

trance is pop

Posted by Project-K on Jan-15-2008 16:44:

That's funny, because trance is some of the most predictable music out there.

I dont think so, the instruments used, synth, bass maybe predictable if that would you mean.. but a track in itself is most times unpredictible, one single track is blended with five different choons and you never know what melody will be added next to this track to give it more mass.

In other generes a single tune is composed and than soundtrack, beats, lyrics revolve around that.

No.
Listen to trance a couple of more weeks and come back.

boring.

Posted by Omega_M on Jan-15-2008 17:07:

EDM is repetitive if you compare it with other genres. However, there are infinite subtle changes and combination of changes in the sounds as the track progresses. Plus no vocals. Not many people appreciate this type of "boring" music. They expect something more to happen. The fact that POS like Bass Hunter can top the charts speaks volumes of the inability of people to distinguish between superior and inferior quality of dance music.

Why just pick on trance?

Music in general is predictable, because you always know it's going to make noise.

Some people like pop.

Posted by chadi on Jan-15-2008 18:32:

Kind of funny how trance is so often referred to as the "pop" of the bunch, when the reality is that house is far more popular than trance.

There actually is a secret to listening to trance, but you have to be a member of the Stonecutters to know it.

I'm a member of No-Homers, does that count?
