me want one :P

it just needs a slot/integraded superdrive- and then it would be the "perfect" notebook!

It's a really expensive toy. $3,000 for the SSD build is a little pricey. I suspect dramatic price cuts in 6-9 months though. It's nice to see Apple venture into the sub-notebook field though. I'd like to see a couple more different builds in the future.

Yeah, but that requires more moving parts. I want virtually no moving parts/noise/huge power consumption in a sub-notebook.

I can do without optical media, in a market where volatile memory is getting cheaper and cheaper to crank out.

well damn i might have to spill water on my macbook so insurance will help me buy the air, it looks amazing

I found lack of an integrated drive to be a major deciding factor for me too. That and the price tag.

did any of you guys watch the preview video for it? you can actually link through bluetooth and use another computer's optical drive. i believe i'll be picking up one of these to support my imac after the price drops on them.

I say they're junk. The high end MacBook Air costs more than the high end MacBook pro, and the Mac Pro, for that matter. Moreover, the specs look god awful for that price (A 1.8GHz processor and a PATA HD WTF!?!). These won't sell, unless they drop their prices...Even a lot of the Apple fanboys think this is crap

I am a bit put off by the pricing and I would say I cant afford it. However, since the launch of MacBook Air, I am just hoping that the price for MacBook Pro will drop. I dont agree that MacBook Air wont sell because of the price. A lot of Apple users will be tempted by the size and weight of the MacBook Air. Its definitely worth the price.

From the reviews i have read, lot of geeks are calling it crap already, it is just a good looking sub-laptop without much power on the inside.
I hope Apple reduces the price. I would surely buy it, if price drops around 10-15%.

Check this out, they teardown MacBook Air
