Whaaaaat....????!
even for a former minister it was a pretty shocking thing to say.
Mike Huckabee today went on the record officially saying that he intends to "re-make the Constitution in accordance with God's law," not any man-made law.

hmmm....Old Testament God or New Testament God?
here's the video

At a Michigan campaign event last night, Mike Huckabee gave an interesting reason for why he wants to amend the Constitution to ban both abortion and gay marriage: Otherwise, the Constitution would be in conflict with God. Huckabee first observed that some of his opponents don't want to amend the Constitution on both of these topics. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God," Huckabee said. "And that's what we need to do, is to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards." |
Ugh. The republicans really are the American Taliban.
Woah, that's a pretty radical statement.
This is what I see...
A Clash of Civilizations. East vs. West. When there is conflict, people tend to rally around divine providence. Therefore, those in the Mid East will become radical Muslims, and likewise, with the polarization of the world, many in the states are polarizing to evangelicalism. Mike Huckabee for one.
I like his Fair Tax support, but we really don't need another Bush in office...
If Huckabee ends up not getting the nomination, I hope that he'll remember that it was "God's Will" that he didn't.

And anyway, Huntington is a simplistic, senile old man who should have stuck to writing about civil society and democracy. Huntington carves up the world into sub-groups and says "welp, conflict between these groups is inevitable -- after all, anyone different than 'us' is the enemy" -- his 1994 book was the primary source the neo-cons built the Project for the New American Century on. He's Zionist to the core, arguing that Israel is the one bastion of Western civilization in the middle of the Islamic enemy. He also hates Hispanic people, though that wasn't clear until his 2004 book. |

Every day, this fuker unloads a new gem.
Here's the one for today:

We win, they lose, and it would happen with overwhelming force. Ladies and gentlemen, we'll practice the Billy Jack school of foreign policy: This heel, on that side of your face, and there's not a thing you can do about it." |
