Plastic Boy - Rise UP / New Life

...Trance is back! I cant get enough of 'Rise Up'...what a tune, belongs right up there with 'Silver Bath' and 'Live Another Life'.

sample

Posted by trance-ecj on Jan-17-2008 01:48:

eh, its kinda boring and repetitive

ill pass

Posted by sm44 on Jan-17-2008 04:29:

really liking rise up and other recent MIKE productions

New Life is really nice too!

Not even in the same league... sad.

Big mike fan here, but wow, this is nothing like Silverbath or Live Another Life

But quite good none the less, I notice an ascending curve in the quality and intensity of his latest productions. And that kinda gets my hopes up for the new Push singles

Average stuff... A New Life is the better one.

I do like that new Absolute though.

nothing compared to silver bath

Which is true for somewhat 95% of all trance ever produced

'Rise Up' will destroy dancefloors I guess, and New Life is just a beautifull trance tune, as far as i can jugde from the sample.

+1

The more I listen to the samples, the more I like them. They sound as if they were produced 5 years ago, but that's exactely what I like about them.

I did a record a while back that was somewhat push inspired, at the time I sent it around but nobody really wanted it. It's a shame because I always thought the melody was pretty good!

Here's a sample of it:

^ It reminds me more of Pulser actually; but it's a nice melody. This would've worked well in 2004. Too bad trance has been exponentially in decline since then.

If no label wants it (which sucks); then maybe give it away for free ?

I really like "rise up", yeah it does sound a bit dated but i have always been a fan of the push/plastic boy sound. It will go down well on the dance floor i just hope there is much more to come like this from mike.
Its hard to compare a track to silver bath as it was so huge i think anything released these days will struggle to live up to the heights of silver bath and others when trance was at its peak.

Keep em comin' m.i.k.e.

Rise Up sounds not bad. Quite pounding like Live Another Lie was. Like someone said to compare it to Silver Bath is silly as its such a special track. If MIKE makes anything as close to that of the likes of Moments Are Forever, Strange World etc then we will all be happy.

Even if one of the trance tunes hes working on is at their level of quality then it will all have been worthwhile

Dunno

Doesn't really do anything for me...

Posted by AY STAR on Jan-19-2008 02:34:

i heard rise-up live
its more of a powerfull trancer
not really melodic
to me a new life is a amazing song sort of like silver bath
that kinda slowed down tempo with a amazing melody

i agree these are no-where near live another life and silver bath
but they are still good tunes
also mike is commin out with a new push track and solar factor this year
should be good stuff

Sounds good

Your Zonderland remix was heavily inspired by Mike as well, and it was massive

Posted by Stino on Jan-19-2008 12:40:

imho 8 wonders does the trick better than mike himself with those remixes of zonderland and that other track on somatic sensen (forgot the name) and this sample

yea new life has crazy amount of emotion

Posted by isoterra on Jan-20-2008 11:39:

i thought the new life melody sounded a bit trite & ridiculous although that's more because of the synth it's played on though than the actual melody itself, i guess. shame cos its a nice track otherwise

i think 'rise up' could grow on me

Posted by DJAzza on Jan-20-2008 14:39:

Seems like from reading through this thread we are getting really mixed reactions towords Rise Up/New Life. I prefer Rise Up to New Life, doesn't really do it for me. Then again hearing it live on dance floor my opinion might be different.

Posted by Simcut on Jan-20-2008 16:22:

I share the same opinion to a lot of other people in the thread, nothing special really

Posted by djdimensions on Jan-22-2008 04:45:

really like new life great track imo mike does it again
