Knight Rider was one of my favourite shows -- in it's time. It is a much different era now -- our world is much more 'high-tech' and a car with all this gadgetry doesn't seem like a big deal.
So, 4 major hurdles this has to get over:
1) Been done before
2) 'High-Tech' is no longer as impressive as it used to be
3) The younger generation today has a comparatively lower attention span / many more options besides TV for entertainment
4) 1982 TransAm still looks better imo
A mustang is impressive? The guy looks like he could be pulling up to the senior prom in that car with the way it's riced out. You didn't see the original trans am look like that. It was a muscle car. How about they build an original car. The only thing its missing are the altezza tail lights and spinner hubcaps. That piece of crap should be driven into a brick wall and then lit on fire, and then consequently cancel the show.
It's all about marketing - the way transformers was a giant GM commercial. I didn't mind it so much because the movie itself was awesome, but enough is enough. How about you take a sweet car that actually is fast - like an 8 series (and which not many people know about) - and you hook THAT up. I've seen people pull up to ruby tuesdays in nicer cars.
And FYI a viper is a piece of crap too. Why anyone would spent $100,000 on a dodge (or $60,000 on a ford, for that matter) is beyond me. They both drive like a piece of crap, and I've driven both.

It really fucks me off that they're recreating this show. Leave well enough alone. Now they're going to ruin the memories I had of watching this show.

as long as the principal from "Boy meets world" plays KIT in the movie then I will be satisfied
Bumblebee > Kitt
I always cracked up at the KITT vs. KARR episodes. It was just two cars driving in circles a round each other in some sand pit. How many things could they actually do to each other?

No Trans Am and no Hasselhoff = no Knight Rider

KITT was the best car in teh world....
what the new car doesn't mention, is that the original kitt had a nuclear turbine as an engine (hear what it sounds like when it's cruising round corners?)
and a chassis that could take a trillion megasomething's of impact per square nanometer (which is why the bodywork was always intact)
and it was just better.
This season is Sean Tyas Rework season on TV.
