Paul Van Dyk Interview For Apple
I thought it was cool that they listed the equipment he uses....

I've always brushed this off as "does he really use it though?!" but I don't know enough about the music he spins originally to decide. If he actually does use the stuff, then sweet. He did say something that I couldn't say better myself.
The other day I was wondering, what did I actually do once the record was playing? Wait for eight minutes to mix in the next one? How boring.
This is why I hate spinning CDs/vinyl. *puts on flame shield*

Yeah UC-33!
tiesto made a interesting comment on a radio show awhile back.
he was saying something refering to using laptops live instead of turntables or cdjs makes it look like your checking your email or something and the whole dj vibe is lost..anyways thats one of the reasons why i respect tiesto so much.
Nice interview.
However,
"At the same time, my fans arent too excited about the sounds that come from Justin Timberlakes music because theyre not used to them."

By the way, does anyone here have a link to the video presentation he did of Serato and Ableton? He explained how he combined timecoded CD's on his CDJ1000's and Ableton Live at the same time, on two different laptops. I guess this was about three years ago, but I can't find this video anymore.
edit: never mind, I found it: http://videos.digital-lifestyle-day...ten&language=en

I heard that Tiesto comment on Radio1 as well. The thing is though that Paul Van Dyk is not just mixing with computers live he is playing and making new music at the same time. Its just the difference between how you want to perform. Paul is definitely one of the few DJs that you will see with two MIDIs out during a performance.
