What would replace Subtractor/Malstrom?

I was just wondering, what AU synth would replace Reason's Subtractor?
And what would replace Reason's Malstrom? Or do you think these synths are "irreplaceable"?

Well since Subtractor is just a subtractive synth, just about any subractive virtual analog synth would replace it. Natively in Logic, the ES1 is almost the same thing. As is the ES 2 (with several added features). Plus, both the ES 1/2 sound loads better than subtractor IMO. Subtractive synthesizers are certainly very common in both hardware and software.

For Malestrom, that is simply a graintable synth, so find a 3rd party graintable synth, and you have your replacement.
