Thumbs down Peitioning to have Paul van Dyk change his Mind about Exit!

First off, I was one of the handful of people last night who actually went to Exit for the Music!..If i remember, It is a club right! The crowd in there was absolutely horrible, and thats why I promised myself I would never be caught dead in the shithole! But for Armin Van Buuren, and my birthday, I guess I made a lil exception! WEll, obviously AVB was a no show, and I found out the hard way after I paid 30 bucks to go see a dj play music that sounded like the streets of Bombay! Anyway, it made me realize how BIG of a MISTAKE van Dyk is making by choosing to come to this place...if he didnt like Soundfactory, there is no way he'll like EXit..Yes, its a big club, but thats all it is....I asked 40 people if they Knew what happened to the dj, and no one knew shit besides a security guard...what the hell! This isnt good for NYC...and the progression in the scene here..obviously van DYk is one the greatest djs ever, but I dont think him and his people know how bad it will be for his beloved reputation in NYC.
On 6.14, I wont even be here unfortunately, but I feel very strong about this matter...I have some people flooding his contact email letting Janos know that Exit is THAT BAD! Anyone agree with me? OR am i the only one who cares about the "intelligent crowd" so to say...

PS> The management in that club is something out of a movie...bunch of sleeze balls!

call PAM.

I'm sorry you didn't hear about Armin getting canceled. I completely agree with you. Exit is not good enough for PVD and it is an embarrasment to NYC that he has to spin there. It sucks that there is no club in the entire city that is suitable for him. I hate the Exit personnel for lying to us, trying to affirm that Armin would be there last night when we already knew they didn't let him into the country. But if he doesn't spin at Exit, where will he spin? I would rather see him there than not at all.

Posted by Trancer-adu on May-04-2002 19:55:

Well, it's better to have him at Exit than not to have him spin in NYC at all. A friend of mine told me that he checked out Exit the last time when he was in NYC and that he liked the place,... so he probably decided to test it out for himself.
What's funny though, is that when I met him in Berlin last year at Columbiahalle, he said that he really wanted to spin at Roseland. He said that although the vibe at Twilo was awesome, he hated the fact that all the people were packed in there like sardines (much like at SF!!!), and that he was looking for a bigger place... I guess the whole Roseland thing didn't work out because they probably don't have a good enough sound system...
Oh well, at least he's coming back, and that's what matters most!

I can't wait for the 14th!!! I'm already counting down the days!

u have my support......NYC nightlife is SHIT nowadays....and Exit is the worst of all.....

Posted by NY1004 on May-05-2002 04:40:

Yea EXIT managemaent is pretty bad. If it is possible to have PVD spin elsewhere then I am all for it, but if it's not then EXIT will have to do even though the annoying crowd has been kinda out of hand lately...moreso than usual.

my opinion is that as long as you go with good people, and the dj is good (heh...PvD), it doesn't really matter what the rest of the crowd is like. i was there for tiesto back in feb. for my sister's 21st b'day and i had a great, great night! at least it's a bigger venue than SF...

Sound Factory with it's 4 floors could barely hold the crowd, and Roxy has the one big room. I'd love to hear him on the phazon in Roxy, but it will be just way too packed.

I have had a tons of fun at exit too

Posted by arturob on May-05-2002 05:12:

I want phazon.

Posted by rubyriva on May-05-2002 05:17:

Paul w/phazon...no words to describe. twilo, guvernment, great nights with PvD!!

Posted by Choobak on May-05-2002 07:31:

Evil1

Hopefully all the fans will fill up the club before the Exit regulars arrive... that would be awesome. Then again with the management at Exit, they'll probably bring in Tony "The Trainwreck" Draper to close for PvD (unimagineable but true...) and they'll fill the club up beyond Soundfactory proportions. If anyone was there for Tiesto in Feburary, I'm sure you remember how insane that was especially with the crappy ventilation and the cracked up exitheads wandering around wondering where Draper is...

100% agreement here...i can not wait until PvD comes to Toronto again!!

Posted by Porky on May-05-2002 09:48:

yup

i do have to admit that i wasn't too impressed with the exit crowd. what's with all these shirtless old asian guys (old enough to be my father) parading around like they own the place? just ruins the atmosphere when people are there not for the music

you guys should all make a trip to Toronto/theGuvernment when Paul spins there. i like it better than SF/Exit. who knows how good Roxy/Glowbana (with its new Phazon) will be?

Pork!

tell him to come back to washington dc!

speaking of sound, i don't know who ultraworld got to outfit the dc armory, but when pvd spun at radiate last november, the sound was unreal. when he dropped the airwave remix of that king of clubs track, it was like angels from above were playing the instruments. one of the most incredible sounds i've heard.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on May-05-2002 14:36:

the GUV~! havent been to TO since Hullabaloo.

ruby - i use to go to R.I.T lols - how's waterstreet? or shall i say "Tremors" LOLS

pvd@exit - im there, fuk it - its pvd. just got to find a better crowd to chill in..away from the hardcore shirtless azn old men.. scurry.

If you guys meet up and reserve a few metres besides the dj-booth I'm sure it'll be a wicked nite eh?

Hey what's up. Yea I had such a great time at Radiate. I see that you were wondering who did the sound for the main room. Total Auido did the sound for the main room. I don't know what kinda speakers/equipment they used though. Well I hope this helped

omg...you went to RIT? small world! heh. I don't even bother going out in Rochester anymore! I try to hit at least one party in either Toronto or NYC once a month to hold me over...

there's going to be a lot of us at PvD june 14th...i'm not too worried about all the 'others'
