sendspace.com has a nice thing where you can pay $2 for a direct download that won't expire. You pay one time, not monthly.

np. Yeah I like that one, you don't have to pay for a whole month. You can use paypal too.

I think I screwed myself last time I sent out demos. I used the free file sharing sites, so no direct download. They didn't have to log in, but you do have to go through several pages to get to the download. The guy from Toes in the Sand actually bothered to download my tracks and listen to them, so I have to hand it to him. He liked the tracks, and told me to keep in touch. That's the only reponse I got out of 4 labels.

savefile.com is a good free one. The files remain for 30 days, and longer if they get downloaded. The download doesn't start on it's own though, it used to, dunno what happened.

Filefront: Great speed... no limit per month... no "our free service is full" or your in a country we don't like bullshit.
Big download button thats obvious(nearly as good as direct link), track dl numbers... theres a page where it has all your downloads (unless you choose to keep them private), ratings, comments
no deleting your files if you register
No wait time
Fileden.com: Not much of that... but direct links up to 30mb and no deleting your files
No wait time

This could really apply to anything... but thats what I use for my sets (I use fileden for songs on myspace)

God megaupload, rapidshare and sendspace piss me off sometimes.

I think I've ran across Filefront before, never heard of Fileden. So neither of those delete your files, sounds great. Sounds easy to get to the download link too. I'll give both of those a try, thanks.

Rapidshare is the worst, with that countdown to Download timer.

PS: How are you presenting your myspace songs that you host on Fileden? I assume you somehow use an embedded media player on your page, or whatever.

For me www.mp3unsigned.com.

Own web space, simple to use, first 3 tracks are free and more cost very little. Also great forums, competitions etc.

check it out.

Megaupload is just as bad

Countdown download
"oh noes you just downloaded 150mb... please wait 3 HOURS"
"Our allocated bandwidth to your country is gone"

Also guys a few people have posted that they are making webspace avaliable free for TAs... like the person above.
