Are dreams more fun???

OK, I don't do drugs but I do drink and maybe a little cheese once in a while, anyway I have some really cool dreams, not jumping around cutting from one thing to the next, continous dreams. Here's one I had a little while ago, see if anyone can make sense of it and let's hear some of yours.

OK I dreamt, I am at the Spa F1 track in Belgium in the crowd and we are waiting for the start. The cars are on the grid, the lights change and they race off, as they come to the first corner and large herd of cows, sheep, pigs and other assorted hoof stock runs across the track, all the cars crash and most of the drivers die. We're all pretty pissed at this, as you'd expect. Some normal looking chap in the crowd says "Let's get those sheep and cows" and starts pulling machine guns and grenades etc. from his bag. We all grab a gun grenades and ammo and run off in the direction of the escaping cattle. They make a dash for a caravan park, (I think you Americans call it a trailer park), anyway they're held up in the the caravans laying down covering fire while we are trying to snipe up to the vans. We get to the point were there are teams of us, one person kicking the door in, second person throws grenade in while covered by a thrid person. After the explosion all three of us running in and spraying the inside with machine gun fire.

The ring leader, a cow by the way, makes a run out the back of the park, followed by a hardcore gang of other cows and sheep. We give chase to the back of park were there is a large fence of green bushes broken only by a small alley way going down the middle. Everyone runs down the alley but I can't. The alley is smeared with Marmite, the floor and walls covered, and I hate the stuff (in real life, an also in my dreams it seems). I leave the others and start to walk back to the race track, stepping over dead cows and sheep.

Make any sense from that?

dreams are a way for the mind to continue and resolve and deal with issues/problems/conflicts that were during the day.....

you've got issues

joking i hate it when something big and eventful happens before i go sleep. many times i dream about such an event that i heard of just hours ago. A few weeks ago, my friend's car got stolen, and he told me about it in late evening. That night, i dreamt that my car was stolen, and even dreamt that i woke up and got up to take a look, only to see it was stolen. Then i woke up for real, got up, and my VW Jetta was still there RELIEF!!!!

OK work this one out...

I'm sitting at work in my staff canteen and everyone around me is ordering hard boiled eggs from Syliva, the canteen lady. Then they are all sitting at the tables with the eggs in little egg cups and beating them with spoons. I'm thinking to myself "the aliens ain't gonna like that". I walk out into the stockroom and start talking to a member of staff and a f#*&&$& alien chicken hatches from his chest. I look around and I see the staff dropping to the floor with chickens hatching from them. There's lots of blood and chickens clucking and pecking at the corpses. I run upstairs, thinking that the executive toilets are the safest place to hide. As I run down the corridor I can see blood stains on the walls so I know the chickens are up here killing the management not just the staff downstairs. I lock myself into the toilets. Standing on the toilet I raise a tile from the lowered ceiling, climb up and replace the tile. I lay there coiled up while I hear people screaming, there's lots for flashing lights, reds, blues, greens, bright white. After what seems like days, go go back down and there's no one around. I run outside into the carpark, everythings quiet, no people, birds nothing. It's like I'm all alone.

The scary part is when I know the chicken are around somewhere but I can't see them.

do you live on a farm or something? it is kind of funny that your dreams involve such aggressive animals. i am personally afraid of blackbirds.

Posted by stella on May-04-2002 21:20:

Nope I don't live on a farm. And I'm not freaked by animals, any of them. Funny though, in my dream, when I was in the stockroom and the chickens were there I'm thinking, "come near me and I'll kick or ass little feather chicken". Only when I couldn't see them was I scared.

Mind you I dream't, a few months ago, that I was being chased by squirrels armed to the teeth with automatic weapons. They kept chasing me across a desert that never ended and all the time they were just about to catch me. They were pissed that humans had cut down all the trees, they had nowhere to live and for some reason "I" personally was being held accoutable for it.

haha I have funny dreams every once in a while too

a few weeks ago I dreamt that it was a F1 grandprix, and a big MONSTER F1Car (like 10 times bigger than the usual ones..) runs over Coulthard's F1 car... and right after that I got carried into a ice hockey game, where one of my classmates (a girl) was a referee...

thats what I call a wierd dream

Posted by stella on May-04-2002 21:30:

Ha ha, I saw that. That was Schumacher lapping Coulthard's car.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if someone made a device that could record your dreams then you could play them back to someone else,

OR

a plug-in or add on that allowed you to connect up to someone else and roam around in there dreams while you both slept.

I am not really educated enough to analyze dreams, but there has got to be a reason for the animal theme. If I can actually remember my dreams, it usually involves running away or trying to escape from something that is chasing or hunting me.

Butterfly,

Funny that, most dream I have I'm doing my best to run away or strike back at something but no mater how hard I try it's never enough.

A fear of failure thing perhaps?

Posted by IllusionalDream on May-04-2002 21:39:

all these dreams sound interesting, but i always dream better, or maybe just remember then once ive had a drink or some greenery

what all you dreamers wanna look into is lucid dreaming. its where you realise you are dreaming, by using some sort of checkpoint (a watch, looking at it and realising it aint the right time, or its not ticking) and at that time you realise you are dreaming and can then control that dream, do whatever YOU want (BMWs and nice wommen... Mmmmm )

Posted by butterfly on May-04-2002 21:44:

Stella - I think it is fear of a lot of things, including failure. I don'y remember ever being caught, though.

I have trouble remembering my dreams for very long after they end. Sometimes I know I am dreaming before I wake up but I can never control them.

Posted by stella on May-04-2002 21:45:

Actually there is a device, dunno if anyone can find it on the net, that you attach a few probes yo yourself before you go to sleep and a little box monitors your sleep. when you're at optimum dream state it give you a slight shock which wakes you enough for to think of a subject before you drop back to sleep. You then dream what you've though about.

Heard of it anyone?

butterfly,

do you feel like someone is pressuring you to do something you don't want to do?

are things in your life hectic, and do you just want to escape from reality?

some questions to consider after reading about what you dream about.

Smoking ..umm..something

Having studied psychology, I can assure you it means fuck all

Why the fuck do some people worry their dreams are telling them something? You know what the major problems in your life are, whatever they are. Everyone does. Education, relationships, debts, threats, friendships, jobs, etc etc.

The little problems in life are only as bad as you percieve them. I disagree when people attach this statement to larger problems, because that's bullshit. Percieving you havn't got debt doesn't remove a problem that could lead to other problems. But seriously, why do you care? You needn't.

Butterfly, you may well be right, but does it matter? So what if it's a fear of failure? So long as it's in his subconscious mind then it's not giving him grief. If he started to get in a girly panic about it, it would.

I disagree with Freudian psychologists who attempt to find the root of someone's problem through intensive open discussion. Apart from the fact the therapy takes years and doesn't always work, and is a rip-off, but often it is counter-productive. Freud was, afterall, just a perve.

That's my tuppence anyway.

I don't worry about mine. I just think they are really cool. Most of my mates either don't remember dreams or they chop about with no real pattern.

Heay, evil_bastard, I had a dream, exactly like the scene from Dirty Harry were he tracks down Scorpio to a sports stadium, except I was chasing Maggie Thatcher along the players tunnel on to the pitch at Wembley stadium. She just made it to the end of the tunnel when I pulled out a massive Magnum and got her in the leg. By the time I slowly walked to the end she had dragged herself out onto the pitch. I went over to her, pulled out an Uzi and emptied a clip into her. Dug a hole and burried her there and then. Then next I'm watching the FA cup on TV thinking hope no one notices the grave. It like a big mound in the middle of the pitch.
