What to do what to do.. =[

Ok anyone who followed my previous thread about how I bought a clone computer and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it after burning out 3 hardrives, a video card, and the motherboard. THAN I posted another thread that we found out it was the power supply that was the source of the problem and the computer was working GREAT, fast as hell on dual cores. Got an updated and better motherboard.

I use the computer for 2 weeks.

My keyboard breaks, I'm like ooook I guess it was about that time to get a new one. Meanwhile I'm broke so I resorted to mousing in notes to my sequencer. The very following day my computer breaks AGAIN. This time its 100% unresponsive.

I have no money, I'm a broke college student who was about to buy a new keyboard untill I got a bill in the mail I wasn't expecting. I have NOTHING. No computer, no keyboard, and I'm losing my g/damn mind.

I'm using my brothers computer now and he absolutely will NOT let me put FL Studio on his computer. This is the longest I've gone in 3 years w/out producing and I've been sooo edgy lately.

I want to sue tigerdirect.com for this *new* piece of shit computer I bought from them. Everytime I contact tech support they try selling me more shit.

So just out of pure anger (and because it will make me feel better) DO NOT BUY ONE SINGLE FUCKING THING FROM THAT WEBSITE.
I'm soo fucking mad right now because I CAN NOT deal with this computer anymore. $450 dollars basically down the drain. I've tried getting a refund, warranty work, everything, and I keep getting blown off or ignored.

So for the sake of humanity, noone make the same mistakes I made please. I'm veering into the realm of homocidal right now..

I appreciate this advice. I've always been suspicious of tigerdirect and other websites, but there has been a side to me that would like to give them a chance. When taking your experience into consideration, I've completely lost faith in them.

Sadly, it's tough to find a good computer store these days, so one can actually see what they're about to buy. I guess you would recommend sticking to the manufacturer's websites and no third party dealers?

heres a fun story...

in MAY LAST YEAR i ordered a $200 print server from a very large online store. they were taking too long, as they ran out of stock, so i asked for a refund. they said it was all good and i thought i saw the return on my statements.

i got a letter YESTERDAY. they are going bankrupt and are in liquidation. turns out, they never refunded the $200. now, i'm an accounting student, so i know the corps act inside out. i'm basically fucked. i'm classified an unsecured creditor, which means i come last, after employees and secured creditors. once the assets are liquidated, there will be nothing left for me to claim from.

on the plus side, the company was trading whilst insolvent. in australia, this is illegal and the directors are held personally liable. they will go to jail and become someones bitch for the next few years.

Nintek Review Site (unknown reviewer)
Pros: none, these people are a bunch of THIEVES !!!!

Cons: Order placed in May 2007, credit card charged in August 2007, No goods delivered and Refund requested in November, STILL waiting for a response, email address contacts are now returning non-deliverable notices.

Those guys stole $60,000 of customer money/stock and ran after being one of the best Online Stores in Aus.

Umm, and you wonder why your computer broke?

Okay... so that's an unrealistic statement to make. I've seen more complete mac failures recently than anything else go on a low end machine.

Keep haggling on the phone and talk some poor shift manager's ear off.

I hope you get your way.

Good luck.

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (on top of everything else). They're like the watchdog of companies.

I'm not entirely convinced that they're the go-to people for stuff like this. All they do is call up businesses and say "we'll list you for so much money and include good feedback for so much more." But it can't hurt to give a call!

If your claim is legitimate, go for something like consumerist.com

That sucks man, but, seriously, I would never buy nothing more than 100 bucks over the net.
At least, here, if someone wants to screw me up, I can simply kick the shit out of him, and then I wont care too much for the money, mean my fists got something to punch, several times .

Kopi =o.

This doesn't consist of you sharing your debit card information with them, right? Never know, could be another scam of sorts...

It does... but only through your own bank (not the original company he purchased it from). I'm not sure if it's available in other countries but in OZ, as long as you've paid by credit card and have enough proof that you purchased the item before they went in to liquidation you can get your money back. There is a surcharge involved but it's better than nothing.

The company echosystm is referring to were an absolute GIANT in the online computer market. A few guys from my high school knew the owners and they were apparently decent guys. When the company started to go under they just legged it. They kept accepting 1000's of orders (and everyone's money) online after they hit insolvency. They are being tracked down by the po po as we speak!!!

Wow, that's a pretty nice service for them to recover your money. Regarding the company, that's sounds pretty standard for anyone going out of business, but would like to rip off a few more people.
