Limewire or Bearshare?
which is better?![]()
soulseek
Ares
here are a few good ones that are very fast, safe, and reliable.
itunes
beatport
kompakt-mp3
File-sharing programs suck these days IMO. I use a small number of HTTP sites that always feature the latest movies, apps, games, and so on. If I have to use a program, I'll usually try Limewire.
if i had to chose between the two i'd say bearshare
fuck file sharing aps like that...its all about the secret sites
Don't be cheap. Buy your music.

you get what you pay for.
Limewire and Bearshare are full of fake apps and fake music uploaded by the recording industry themselves.
Pay 15$ / month and go with newsgroups. Guaranteed maxed out connections for all your downloading needs.
I get consistent 800 Kb/sec and download about 2gigs in about 30 minutes.
i have my sources but for everything else, emule

and I forgot to add, with newsgroups, split the cost among 4 or 5 friends, costs then 3$ each per month..and have all the movies/music/games/applications you need.

true, although demonoid is now dead (closed to Canadians) and if you're lucky enough to find someone who can invite you, and trust you (since if you screw up and don't upload, you and the person who referred you is banned).
Plus, Roger's throttles torrent downloading, Bell does too, but there's a way to get around it. Roger's you're just SOL.
You also have to worry about overage charges from your ISP for the amount you have to upload (to keep your ratio on private torrents).

uTorrent and DC++

And for music it sucks, there are waayyy better private trackers for music, but if you're out of the loop, you're out of the loop. And sharing is caring. It's not that hard to keep a 1.0 ratio. The way to get around is as simple as clicking "encrypt torrent data" in UTorrent. Not really a problem at all. |

torrentleech is my source for everything besides music. although they did post a lot of sets before.
music i either get from the d/l thread here (for sets) and for tracks i use DC++.
btw that's a weak ratio depending on how long you've been on the site.
Ratio: 1.663 Uploaded: 1.98 TB Downloaded: 1.19 TB in 2 years.
soulseek ftw
if you think it's just another kazaa clone that will fuck up your computer (i was sceptical myself when it was recommended to me), you're wrong... give it a try
