Stupidity@work

Does anyone encounter absolute Sienfieldness at the job?
How do you deal with nonsense/stupidity when it's the norm?

what happened to forever?

Re: Stupidity@work

How do you deal with it? You become jaded to it and constantly go along with the concept of "always make the customer happy" and do whatever they want. I really have no emotion when people yell at me anymore. I just stand there, look at them straight-faced, daydream about random shit, then when they're done with their five minute tirade I'll just give them whatever they were whining about.

It's not the customer.
It's my manager and coworkers.

In the last three weeks I've had 3 major blowups with my boss.
My comrads tell me to let it go, just go with the flow.
I so hate, being mediocre.

Get a new job.

I left the last one for similar reasons.

hahahahahahahaha

if you hate your job, then try doing things to get you fired. i used to spend at least 3 hours a day on TA. then, my company promoted me and gave me more money. i have no idea why. so i did my job for awhile and then quit to go to grad school.

Monkey Dancer 2

Tuned out the absurdity and focused on the job rather than the surroundings... And got a $5000 bonus check for the month of January.
With a great speech from the CEO focused on not following the herd.

A surprising amount of it is true.

i've come to a point in life where a 40 hours a week is considered "part time", and 50 hours is considered a standard "full time" work for myself.

I only encounter stupidity at work when I browse TA.

Posted by Dj O'Callaghan on Feb-10-2008 01:26:

Find a new job. Or put up with them and have some fun by winding them up, browse the net all day, ring your friends etc.

I used to work with a really aggressive hag at marketing company a few years ago. If she didn't get her morning dose of black coffee you could guarentee she'd make everyone elses day hell. So I switched the Decaffinated with the normal coffee, it was like watching someone getting off a herion addiction.

you could treat your boss like s/he's not in the "cool" group and constantly find entertainment in her/his stupidity. i like my boss so not sure what else to tell you...with the people i don't like, i'm all about work and don't attempt to care one way or another about them if it doesn't pertain to work.

i don't know. maybe it's just me how i've been getting used to these type of hours. a couple of weeks ago, a couple of higher ups were thinking of making the transition towards the "european work hours", where we work 35 hours a week. i was like . sure i would accept it, because i would work less hours, but be paid the same amount, but my life would feel so empty i would actually go out, and find a part time job to fill my void. that's how bad it has gotten for me. save me!

my life is being gobbled up by my job i'm fortunate and got a job at my top choice company after graduating and could realistically see myself there for at least 10 years but jobs shouldn't take up who you are. i miss getting out at 5/6 because then i was reading more books, learning new things and had more of a chance to stay in touch with friends. don't you have a hobby you can't do anymore because of your crazy hours? i know i'm sacrificing a bunch of stuff...primarily sleep.
