Dunno Is NYC getting less talent?

Is it me or are we getting less visits from the big names? I've been wanting to see Ferry again since October and I dont see a tour date on his site, for a while. We need some solid monthly gigs. Maybe someone can suggest some?

if you're talking about the top 5 djs, sure, maybe they have been coming a little less frequently the past few months.

Other than those 4 big trance names though, its been crazy how many insane djs have been coming through NYC lately.

you like trance? ok

these guys have all been here in the past few months....

M.I.K.E.
Kyau and Albert
Ronski Speed
Marcus Schossow
Jon O'Bir
Andy Moor
Christopher Lawrence
Simon Patterson
Sean Tyas
Sander Van Doorn
Cosmic Gate
Second Sun

this list goes on and on...not to mention some pretty butty bookings coming up in the next few months.

lol we just had this conversation in a recent thread. Big name DJ's often take holiday/vaca this time of year. (also in prep for WMC).

NYC get more big names than most cities. Waiting for Ferry since october? please, he is ONE man. And with all the millions of cities he can visit, he still makes it here 3 times a year!!! I mean, who can complain about that?!?!

Of this list I'd only see a few and at that Im not sure that I would enjoy the whole set. SVD fo sho! cosmic gate and second sun...yeah..
I'm not a big fan of waiting till the late hours for the good stuff , I think my limit is about 3, and then if its not on then fugit. I still like DT , Sander K and the bunch but is it me or is it just a notch down overall.

Agreed : Victor Rips it these days

I heard Ferry saying that he was planning a US tour sometime in April. Can't wait for that!

Posted by AY STAR on Jan-30-2008 22:33:

werd i hope breakfast joins him in his tour

We get talent all the time. We just happened not to get the big names to show up during New Years in recent years

Posted by AY STAR on Jan-30-2008 22:43:

id u look at last years calender from sept to dec
pretty much every big dj from trance to techno
house to minimal was here

i dont think things are that slow now
nyc has great local talent also dont sleep on them
i would say after wmc more and more big djs should make their way to nyc

I'm almost positive he said that Breakfast would be going along. Listening to the radio show now I heard it on to confirm.

Ohhh... Miami , I dunno if I'll make it home from another trip.
But good to know that ferry is coming around again!

Breakfast WILL be joining Ferry on his US tour in April. Just heard him say it on the show he filled in for Eddie Halliwell on 1/18.

I live in Virginia and I used to goto NY to catch the talents that I couldn't get in DC. It's gotten a lot better with Global/Fur, but I still find myself make that roadtrip to NY once every two month. People in NY don't know how good they have it sometimes...
