So here's my first promo set in kind of a while (I think the last one was September) and it's a bit of a change from the last one. There's quite a few vocal tracks and in general what I hope is a good combination of current tunes with a couple of classics thrown in there for good measure.

In any event, I hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for listening, and as always feedback/criticism is more than welcome.

Cheers.

Oh, and also I do in fact realize how much it is frowned upon to have "ID - ID" in a tracklist, but I appreciate some of the privileges I have and feel honoring the wishes of those who keep me current is the least I can do. If someone figures it out (which some of you undoubtedly will), I can't be blamed if you ID it...

i'll grab it tomorrow morning during my Fraud class.

Looks good bro. I'll grab it whenever I have internet, unless you'd be willing to burn a brother a copy

Posted by RJT on Jan-30-2008 16:56:

I'd be glad to burn you one

Lol, thanks loads for listening - and I can definitely see why some folks might not enjoy that one, especially because it's one of the few tunes I let roll on for a bit.

Cheers.

15. FC Kahuna Hayling (Original Mix) [City Rockers]

This track is legend. How old is it? Nice closer.

I'd like to see a higher energy mix from you, even if it's not your style. Do you have any club style mixes?

Posted by Quadlow on Jan-30-2008 18:54:

Tracklist looks interesting duder. Not what I was expecting, very interested in seeing what it sounds like. I will make sure to download soon for sure and tell you how much your babies are going to such when you have them, and shit.

Discogs says it was released originally in 2000, but it's one of my all time favorite tunes and reminds me quite a bit of both Balance 005 and listening to DI.fm's chillout station while I was working in Stevens Point.

And it's funny you asked for a more high energy set, because when I really think about it I probably haven't done anything "high energy" or I guess really "peak hour" in ages - it's in fact probably been since I was regularly spinning trance.

And as weird as this may sound (considering this one ends with some downtempo) - I kind of thought this one was "high energy" (at least for me).

Also, 10 of 15 of these tracks have vocals of some sort or other in them - that has to be some sort of record for me.

Has the "official" title finally been decided?

The only reason I was told to hide the ID was because they hadn't decided on a final title, interested to know if he ended up keeping the one on my copy.

not sure.

the two versions ive heard have had different titles. strange titles at that...

that kid is gonna be big this year tho, you heard it here first

Posted by RJT on Jan-31-2008 04:02:

Yeah - the titles are awesome.

And he does have some fantastic material coming out this year - Glannie (TA from Holland) has been pretty much singing his praises for quite some time now, got me hooked.

I've become very good at lip-syncing it as well - which is either really fun or really embarrassing depending on who catches me doing it.

Listening to this is on my short list of things to do today. Will leave feedback asap.

Posted by RJT on Jan-31-2008 14:54:

Due to the response in the DJ promotion forum I feel compelled to mention that if anyone downloads and listens to this expecting a "clubby" or "energetic" experience - this might not be the one for you today.

If, on the other hand, you're into some atmospheric, sleazy, somewhat relaxed and vocal early hours house and techno, well then by all means - I think this one is indeed for you.

Posted by Quadlow on Jan-31-2008 15:05:

Isnt it funny when you make something that you feel is actually a little more upbeat then your normal affai. Yet people are so trained and delusional that if it isnt 132 BPM hard tech trance they thank its too deep or not banging enough. I feel yeah Rob believe me.

On a side note I have been working on music for Friday all week so I haven't had a chance to listen yet, review to come.

Posted by RJT on Jan-31-2008 15:08:

I do think this one is a little bit more ethereal and atmospheric than most of what's out there for clubs, but that isn't to say I don't think it has its exciting moments here and there.

And to be honest, I'm just really, really happy I got to put the first two tracks on there the way I did, and finished it with what essentially amounts to my own little tribute to Balance 005 and Fundacion: NYC.

I had been thinking about those 5 tunes for months before this was even finished.

Posted by RJT on Feb-01-2008 15:40:

Also, if anyone wants a printed/tracked copy, I should have plenty of them with me this weekend.
