Super Bowl XLII

http://www.nfl.com/superbowl

Alright let the trash talking begin.

alright I am not going to lie I doubted my GIANTS at the beginning of the season but damn they made me eat my words.

IMO though i am worried about the attitude of the GIANTS players now, speaking out and breaking the pattern they had going into the play-offs of embarrassing the underdog mentality.

Also what are everyone's thoughts on the PATS making it? still pisses me off since they were caught cheating and anything from the Boston area has to be bad news.

I think its gonna be a tight game and I really unsure as to who will win. Though I would love to see the Pats lose in the last game of the season and ruin their "perfect" record

Posted by ownymcown on Jan-30-2008 23:28:

lol i think they rose above that little cheating scandal by showing what they are capable of.

i'm supporting the pats mainly just to spite giants fans. give me a break, in the beginning of the season you were calling to have the head coach fired and eli kicked off the team, and now of course you're back on the wagon. as a group of people new york fans almost rival philly fans in terms of being annoying.

go pats! its history in the making~~

this is what I was looking for....I am not a band wagon fan for the giants...I have loved them from the sunday I was born during a giants game and my dad had a tv wheeled into the hospital room so he could watch the giants game that was on.

I am not one that is behind the coach or eli, eli scares the shit out of me every time he gets on the field and I think there are better QB's out there....this was a team effort. Osi freakin rocked it out this year as did a lot of other players.

I want the pats to go down and whats with all the Brady ankle shit....

Posted by ReenTeenTeen on Jan-30-2008 23:59:

i am not reading newspapers nor watching on the tv news any of the B.S. thats going on in the media right now because all I care about is who wins this coming game instead of all the pointless publicity thats doesnt give you a win instead.

talk the talk but walk the walk.

Same could be said for the Cowboys and Packers. I think if they continue to play like they have, they will have a chance to beat them. Key is to keep Eli passing and making big plays to Toomer and Burress. Defensively, Strahan and Yumenyora will have to hold it down and get the rest of the guys to go at Brady. It def. seemed to be an intense matchup when they met 4 weeks ago so who knows. They def. will use whatever they got in that game to come out and do well for Superbowl. As one person I met this week said, "My heart is with the Giants but my wallet says Patriots."

Posted by GTS3gEclipse on Jan-31-2008 00:52:

I still want Coughlin fired, I dont think he's the right coach for the team. And I still dont like Eli, he can't win a game on his own, he's just not good enough. The Giants are in the Super Bowl because Eli didnt have to won any playoff games on his own, the defense won them. I think that as long as the defense continues to play the way they have and the offense plays smart and doesnt turn the ball over, the Giants will win and thats what I'm hoping for.

Posted by ownymcown on Jan-31-2008 01:10:

erm to my knowledge eli didn't have any turnovers in the playoffs so...

Actually, yea. LOL. I mean hes not that great of a QB, compared to the ppl he beat so far to get to the superbowl, but its a team sport and if it takes the Giants Defense to win it, then so be it. As long as he doesnt mess up, it shouldnt really matter. He wont be MVP anyways. It will prob be Strahan imo, since he is the glue that holds everything together.

no team this whole season had a chance in defeating the Pats except the Giants-- thats cause of our rushing yards!! n ya know what, we were the only ones that came pretty darn close in beating them. n ya know what else, we will the 2nd time........GOOOOO BLUEEE!!!

i score the game: 38-31 GIANTS!!!!

Posted by AY STAR on Jan-31-2008 04:32:

honestly i think its gonna be a good game
but the decideing factor is going to be eli
if he lets the media, pressure get to him hes going to choke
he has not really been a big game qb, brady has been here and knows what its like and can deal with it
last few weeks have been big on elo and he been good so lets just hope he keeps that up
i think the rest of the giants will play their hearts out

last time i checked Football is a TEAM sport not a 1 man game.. Giants SUPER BOWL CHAMPS BABY!!!

LETS GO BLUE!!!!

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Jan-31-2008 17:56:

lets go giants!

i don't think the pats will cover 13-14pts, it just doesn't do it for me. the only defensive things that I worry about is moss in the secondary (he was open twice in a row on the same play) but madison should lock him down. pierce, strahan, and osi need to keep that line tight

one quick flip back
where would the giants be if tiki didn't retire?

ummm where were you when the Eagles and Ravens played the Pats?

Posted by DigitalReason7 on Feb-01-2008 17:04:

yea the pats are a good team but i cant take all the publicity and tom brady worshipping whores there are out there. every time you turn on sports center its all just "the pats are too good" and some more banter about how brady is a living god. plus they should have lost a couple games if it werent due to bad play calling or blown calls by the refs. the ravens, eagles, and most definitely the giants should have beaten them.

personally i find it offending that a lot of these sports commentators come off as giants haters. i mean, watching the games with the cowboys and packers i should have muted just cause the commentary was praising the other two teams and shit talking the giants. joe buck is by far the worst. i would get more out of listening to madden, at least he is fun.

i have been a giants fan since birth, lol. i will admit eli is scary sometimes but i think hes turning around. and no it isnt a one man sport, one guy isnt gonna win games...u saw that with atlanta, all the talk about freakin michael vick and he didnt bring that team anywhere.

either way it will be history, either the pats win and have the perfect season and brady will go down as the greatest qb ever, or the Giants will crush them and their rep, put them to shame and have their season ungratefully dubbed a miracle. the team has it in them they just need to work together, theyve proved that to everyone.

GO GIANTS! i hope brady has a crying party with T.O. after the game...

The funny thing is Tiki prob retired because he thought he never would have made it to the SB with the Giants and didn't feel like going to a team that was willing to pay him because it would consist of the whole rebuilding process anyways. Now the Giants are in the SB without Tiki LOL. I love it.

the pats just can't lose
