aids
i recently learned that my class ('11) is mandated to attend an std/aids presentation.
wtf im in college can i not have to sit through this shit anymore?
(ps to teh thread about sex/majors? im music industry..)
People don't exactly smarten up when they enter College/University, so these seminars are needed.
Atleast they're actually teaching you something that will be useful for the real world for once.

Livejournal
Who's mandating this? Is it for a class, or is it mandated by the uni? Are there consequences if you dont go?
But seriously... STDs are no laughing **scratch scratch scratch*** mat *drip* ter...
strongly suggest by uni that we go
mandated by class that we write a journal response with relevant info
im going to have to go if my journal is going to be right...
and no i dont get drunk goggles i get meaner...
instead of:
thinking: "you're ugly" ---> saying "you're cute!"
i go from:
thinking: "you're ugly" ---> saying "don't talk to me"
You could always get outta this thing by asking the instructor if its against the law to have given aids to someone without telling them you were HIV positive before having sex, then when they say "yes", say "Oh, darn, I really need to call someone right now." then in a panic state leave looking distraught...proceed go to the local pub and get smashed while everyone else in your class is stuck there.
Only shitty part is any hot girls in your class wont be sexing you up, but if you got a girlfriend already, then this scam is like gold.
that kinda sucks, but every organization has weird things like that. it won't kill you to go (lol, *that* would be ironic), and sure you may not learn anything, but its at least good to get the info out to the masses.

Actually statistically speaking, it is much more prevalent among those three groups. But it should be relevant to everyone.

Re: Re: aids
^ Beatflux has a point. AIDS is most common in blacks, druggies, and homosexuals. The stats back it up. However, straight people get it too. No one is immune to it. So AIDS is relevant to everyone, just more so the types mentioned by Beatflux.

You should take the opportunity to ask all sorts of ridiculous questions, e.g. "How long will HIV survive outside the human body, and what can I do to extend its useful life?"
I had to go to an all-day AIDS seminar for my developmental class......
There was this guy who used to be a junky and i guess sucked alot of cock @ gay clubs for drugs and ended up getting aids. I was like "you fucking idiot" but at the same time i ended up feeling bad for him.
The fastest growing demographic for HIV infection in the US is college-age single women. Which would explain why your college is being paranoid about it.
