Not really safe to ride around in the cities around here in the Us though... or at least not in the ones i have been... the only one that comes to mind is DC....

i knew a guy who owned a vespa!

...he died @ 19.

fucking dumb shit. do not buy one, or a motorbike. almost everyone i know who has owned one, has had a crash. 2 dead, 2 near-fatal (now with disabilities), 3 with broken bones, 1 with a few scratches and 2 yet to have a crash (but they only bought them in the last 1-2 years).

it doesnt matter how careful you are, you're going to get raped.

While I agree that they are dangerous, they don't carry a 100% mortality rate. I think it all depends on how comfortable you are with the folks that drive in your city. Well... and your own driving too, I guess.

And you still think it's worth it? Potentially, your life, I mean. Or maybe worse, to end up severely disabled for the rest of your days.

To save a few bucks and some carbon emissions? That doesn't sound worth it to me.

Don't do it!

dude if ur so cheap about gas you might as well buy something BADASS like a fucking sports bike and just race that shit everywhere 24/7 adrenaline rush!! rather than a slow ass vespa. And seriously thought, if its just for the drive to work, get a mountain bike and get healthy riding that shit and u can get those nice muscular veiny legs chicks love

lol the gas is an added benefit...but no way im going into a law firm after riding a bike almost 10 miles. id be sweaty and all that without a shower available. that doesnt appeal to me.

oh and a good bike is about 5k..i have to worry about some things that are taking most of my money. this is cheap. 2k aint much

Posted by kiev_42 on Jan-31-2008 06:51:

yeah but after looking at all these fucking mods wearing trenchcoats and boots and shit so they dont get all dirty riding their vespas, I figured riding that shit gets you really dirty or something I dont even know.

I wouldn't mind riding one, it would be fun. Then afterwards I could join the rest of OC housewives at their local tea party.
