Im sure some of you guys are on the same boat as i am
with myspace as well as photobucket blocked from work
anyone got any solutions to this

dr.mario
do your job instead. Though I am being a hypocrite
hahaha... I use to think I couldn't survive w/o My Space while at work. Well it's been blocked for awhile now and I'm not really missing anything! It can wait til I get home.
As long as I still can get on here, the other board I visit, photobucket, and check my emails (2 accounts) then it's OK.
My job has blocked You Tube and a few other sites as well. They think that by blocking more sites I'm going to do more work?
hahahaha... I just find other things to do! Like shopping!
Man I'm lucky... my job blocks NOTHING. I surf 4chan while helping clients sometimes!
In regards to your problem though... could you maybe get around it by going through a proxy?

i use remote desktop and get on my home computer from work:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...emoteintro.mspx
pretty easy to set up too
Use Hamachi for secure, easy tunneling. But if I catch you using Hamachi on my network, I'm pwning you hard. ;]

i'm not blocked from myspace but plenty of ways to bypass. as mentioned, some solutions are RDC (i'm actually blocked from worked), hamachi, VNC direct (i'm blocked), VNC via http (i'm blocked), proxies, etc.
but in terms of remote desktop connections for your home PC, i've tried them all, and i like the free LOG ME IN . pretty good at bypassing most firewalls, no port forwarding set up necessary, fast, simple install of host on the home computer, browser based viewer, etc.
i have Microsoft/Windows RDC and VNC set up at home, but usually end up using logmein for that.
Here... for myspace, try accessing the site direcely by IP.
Basically, in the address bar in your browser type "216.178.39.74"
Let me know if that works.

Hamachi sounds cool, but definitely something that could land me in hot water at work. How stealthy is the software, what are the chances of getting caught by the network guys?

| A simple software audit would pick it up 1-2-3. Depends how advanced and how much your IT department cares about stuff like that. It is a really secure app, but a really easy way to leak company data out to a personal/private computer |
hax the network.
