do your job instead. Though I am being a hypocrite

hahaha... I use to think I couldn't survive w/o My Space while at work. Well it's been blocked for awhile now and I'm not really missing anything! It can wait til I get home.

As long as I still can get on here, the other board I visit, photobucket, and check my emails (2 accounts) then it's OK.

My job has blocked You Tube and a few other sites as well. They think that by blocking more sites I'm going to do more work? hahahaha... I just find other things to do! Like shopping!

Man I'm lucky... my job blocks NOTHING. I surf 4chan while helping clients sometimes!

In regards to your problem though... could you maybe get around it by going through a proxy?

dont know what this is but ok i wont lol

i'm not blocked from myspace but plenty of ways to bypass. as mentioned, some solutions are RDC (i'm actually blocked from worked), hamachi, VNC direct (i'm blocked), VNC via http (i'm blocked), proxies, etc.

but in terms of remote desktop connections for your home PC, i've tried them all, and i like the free LOG ME IN . pretty good at bypassing most firewalls, no port forwarding set up necessary, fast, simple install of host on the home computer, browser based viewer, etc.

i have Microsoft/Windows RDC and VNC set up at home, but usually end up using logmein for that.

Here... for myspace, try accessing the site direcely by IP.

Basically, in the address bar in your browser type "216.178.39.74"

Let me know if that works.

Thats a good way too. Google has a translator as well I believe. (you're basically using them as a proxy)

Yeah, kind of a pain, but doable with Macs...it has gotten better

Hamachi sounds cool, but definitely something that could land me in hot water at work. How stealthy is the software, what are the chances of getting caught by the network guys?

A simple software audit would pick it up 1-2-3. Depends how advanced and how much your IT department cares about stuff like that. It is a really secure app, but a really easy way to leak company data out to a personal/private computer.

Network guys at my job all look like big dorks and probably get a kick out of finding things some of us link into. No not porn either.

Oh they care about every little site we may happen to visit. They don't want us getting into any site! They've even blocked me from the Spundae board and there ain't nothin going on there!
