Cool idea! Did you use sticky tape? What if the tape breaks?

Posted by Jah on May-06-2002 05:47:

i dont get it whats the advantage :/?

Posted by skywarp on May-06-2002 05:59:

It's rubber bands, not sticky tape.

This is only useful if you have your decks mounted close to big speakers (ie. club bassbins, several hundreds / thousands watt) - the rubber bands would dampen the vibrations and prevent turntable feedback and needle skipping.

I don't see a reason to set up your decks like that for a bedroom soundsystem.

ah ok i get it now

the club i have a residency has the tables floated like this..it just helps me adapt to them..u have to have much lighter hands..and stuff

Posted by Technaut on May-06-2002 10:31:

Talking

Mr Oakenfold will not play at Gatecrasher unless they put squash balls which are cut in half under the feet on the decks!!

And yeah there soundsystem is loud

totally off topic....

SKYWARP - Where is Marshall Islands ???

Hold on a second, rubber bands? Isn't that going to make the TTs even more bouncey?

Posted by migitymike on May-06-2002 15:32:

yes they bounce..but they dont shake.or vibrate..u can do this with thses tables floated../i have hard wood floors..i can jump on the floor make my whole set up shake..and when the tables are floated they shake..but they dotn jump..and make sure u use at least 8 rubber bands per tape roll..and thw width of each rubber band needs to be think..not the cheap little thin ones..the width is actually 64

Posted by Martin McG on May-06-2002 15:54:

hey thats a pretty nice idea! it would stop skipping and shit like that but mind you i dont have the Gatecrasher soundsystem in my room directly in front of my decks though (pity)

Posted by Kid_Lax on May-06-2002 16:54:

is that idea effective in stoppign the needle from skipping from people dancing, etc. in front of the tables?

great idea

Posted by migitymike on May-06-2002 17:05:

it isnt 100% that it wont skip..most likely it wont..but it makes it to where if someone bumped it..it wouldnt jump..and u could slap them for bumping the tables

I'm from Canada actually, but I believe Marshall Islands is in the Pacific somewhere, one of the many Micronesian island-states.
I just like the flag and the name ... hehehe.

u take 5 squash balls..and make it like the 5 side of die*make sense*?
and then get a walking stone..like a sqaure one
and put that ontop
and put ur decks on that..but the counter..or shelf..or whatever u wanna call it..where u put ur tables..has to have a hole cut out about an inch bigger on each side of the stone..

Posted by DJ LIQUID on May-07-2002 06:16:

...uh.. im completely lost w/ that one..

Posted by j_spot on May-07-2002 07:06:

Squash is a raquet game. The ball is made of thick rubber, and is very flexible.

to use the balls, you chop em in half. then put the half ball under the foot of the TT...but the tape idea is better IMO, id be too scared of a ball slipping out

Dude that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You'll have to learn English if you want people to understand you!
