i didn't start the thread looking for advice, but the question just arose in me. whether it's ever a god idea.

Are you still friends, so to say, with these old flames? Contacting lost friends, or people you haven't talked to in a little while is fine. If my boyfriend wants to contact his, I say by all means, go for it.

Fuh realz. Old significant others are still PEOPLE. It's always important to make sure you still know them as a person, and not an object you used to date. Tell the girl how you feel, and if anyone has a problem with that, they're just frickin' crazy.

I just ran into the same situation not too long ago. Found a REALLY old gf on mypsace and started chattin it up. After not too long she decides to come out and visit me! [From Chicago to LA mind you!] Not only that, but she stayed with me AND my current gf with whom I live.

Turned out being really cool though. It was neat to get to know someone that you knew as a kid, as an adult.

So I guess it can be a good thing? As long as you and your current SO are in a solid relationship with good lines of communication, it should be no issue and could end up pretty neat.

Actually I can't really say that, I just got in touch with my ex from roughly 10 years ago. My first real girlfriend, first real relationship... I keep in touch with her now, but we back off abit when we are in respective relationships. It's actually pretty cool, just like Generality said.

Yea, mine was from around 10 years ago as well. I guess the key is to just leave enough time that both of you have completely grown out of it.

Dosent mean they have changed. Its easy to revert to someone you are comfortable with. Females seem to do that most. Its a trap.

thats the only one i really cant stand. the rest are alright. my fuckbuddy i had though i wont ever talk to again either. she practically harassed me.
