Thanks to everyone who took the time to write back.

  • i'm not even 25 mins in and this is already by far the best mix i've ever downloaded off this forum. most mixes with old tunes tend to have ropey mixing so i was preparing for average at best, but i got halfway through track 2 before i realised it wasn't still unity playing rest of it has been equally seamless
  • Alrite these 2 mixes are the best classics mixes I've download from TA. The mixing, especially, is impeccable. We could really do with 320s of both mixes.
  • i guess the only other bad thing about both mixes is that they made me depressed how there's no trance still being made like this today
  • I have to agree with everybody else, excellent effort on all fronts!
  • Definitely sounds like a classic club set from that time.
  • 9/10 I think you did a very very good job with this set, especially with the first hour. The second hour had its moments but not as action packed as the first (i.e. mixing, track selection, everything!), otherwise you would have gotten a perfect 10.
  • Immense in all ways shapes, forms and sounds. 10 out of fucking 10
  • I downloaded this ages ago but I've only just got round to playing the full thing. This mix is thee shit, my friend. That Xpander/Stage One mash-up is brilliant too. It's possibly the best thing I've ever heard done to Xpander.
  • Immense in all ways shapes, forms and sounds. 10 out of fucking 10
  • Fucking loved this set, been hammering it for a few days now. Great mixing and track selection.
  • Wow, this is really good indeed. It reminds me of Chris Forter - Trance America which is a good thing
  • Nice mix. Aside from nearly blowing my sub up at the intro, it was really smooth and nostalgic. I vote for more like this.
  • one of the best beat mixers i have heard, this has to be good
  • Excellent. Best 2 hours i've spent since 11 this morning
  • Spectacular my style The Best! ,Killer................. killer................ aroun 36mins, i just loved this mix js
  • Thanks!!! a million for this, I have been on a journey and please dont wake me up
  • Immense set. Thanks.

Loved this, it really sucks that it's 128kbps though, it really kills alot.

Posted by the-sixth on Feb-03-2008 18:05:

Thanks so much for the comments guys, i am really happy to hear your comments

Sorry about the 128Kbps, but the filesize meant i had to

Encode 320s and put them up on Megaupload please

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Feb-03-2008 23:32:

I'm giving this a listen, based on the other comments. Downloaded ridiculously quickly.

EDIT: Megaupload has a 500mb limit now, so my previous comment is redundant.

Awesome comments guys thank you

I deleted the wav file off my disk, it was over a gig

I didnt even think when i deleted it. Too big for the recycle bin also so it could be gone forever unless i use some recovery software. I will try tomorrow, might be lucky.

yeah the hosting company i use is excellent. The speeds are great hope you enjoy the mix

I took me so long to track it down on vinyl it was unreal. I only ever heard seb fontaine play it on his essential mix i think it was?

D/L both 1 and 2. I saw Nautious - Amber and thats all it took. This is the stuff that got me hooked on EDM. Todays sounds just don't have that vibe u get from the old school tracks. A 320 rip would be great =)

forgot to report back on this.. loved it to pieces. xpander & pistolwhip looked out of place on the tracklist but they went perfectly & really helped add variety. the only qualm i has was with the stage one 'bootleg'.. it sounded great to begin with but think it should have been mixed out before the main buildup on xpander, starts to feel a bit cluttered thereafter. small complaint though

gave the first one a listen too, also great stuff but 2 felt a bit more *complete*, mainly cos it had a proper intro to it i think. the airwave track made for a beautiful finisher though, really full of emotion

i guess the only other bad thing about both mixes is that they made me depressed how there's no trance still being made like this today

LOL

That bootleg was actually the first time i ever tried mixing those 2 together and it was one of those mixes that just sat in time, so i left it as long as possible and kinda got carried away with the moment because i was getting spine tingles every time i heard the wee vocal from stage one.

I remade the bootleg later, but in that mix i really should put Stage One as another track as it was those 2 playing while i was cueing the wasteland record.

That airwave track is probably my fave track ever, the enrergy and emotion in it is just awesome and its a dream of mine to hear it played at somewhere like trance energy. I think the energy that would be created would be unlike anything anyone could handle. Would send me crazy with joy

Thumbs up

9/10

By the way, any idea where I can download part 1 of this set?
